I am one of the lucky ones that learned the hard way,
I wrecked about 4 years ago and busted my skull and all I got was
some plastic surgeon to fix me up.
I have and always will wear my helmet from that day forward.
and on the other side some clothes the day I wrecked I was wearing
tennis shoes a tank top and shorts and got some bad road rash, broke ribs,
broke hand and knee that will never be the same.
I am lucky!!!

October 22, I blew into a 30mph switchback doin about 80. I was wearing full leathers.
Broke my feemer from the joint up six inches in about twenty pieces. I was out today in this fine 50 degree weather riding with a freind of mine and the whole time my leg is throbbing but I dont care I just want to ride. I am still cautious cause I still see myself sliding into the guard rail. Dont get me wrong I didnt have any chicken stripps on the back tire just the front. Anyway I should of died according to the guy behind me when I went down. He said that I bounced all over the guard rail. My bike that did all that was totaled. Some freind of mine said they were going to buy me a shirt that said, "if you dont have a limp you aint shit" . Well I have that limp now, probably will take a year to get over it. Wouldnt recomend breacking the leg its a bitch. :shithappens: :yoda:

Ive been told that the collar bone is bad, also the elbow. I have broke all three and I can say that the feemer is the worst. Its the only break that made me screeeeeem :!: :eyepopping:
I dont even want to think of brecking the hip. Good luck with that. :yoda:

yeah that one sucked. lost torso satbalization for about a year and had the left clavical busted at the same time.
right clavical busted in 4 places in two inches
I fractured both elbows
busted the tail bone many times
still have a broken vertebrae that will fuse with the tailbone in all due time
a rib that will never heal
a healed fractured tibia that's diplaced
andd much much more.
am very glad I had all that in place of the femur. I give you credit for staying strong there Truck. Pain is a m.f.
you should see one of my old helmets from landing on my head on a pile of asphalt chunks while still having a dirtbike underneath(well above me at the time).13' catapult from suspension compression after a slide due to improper throttle control from having too thick of gloves on.
that's when I blew up the right collarbone, folded my lower left leg to a 90 out to the sideat the knee and dislocated my left hip. I came to from the sound of the bike screaming and pulled myself over to it with my left hand, got my hip back in, had then been found by my friends which wanted to leave my bike there while we went to the hospital and I said hell no. wanted them to put my right hand on the bar so I could drive it back to the truck and none would so I swung it up there in 2 tries and wheelied away...hahah
in the e.r. I sat there for 3 hrs. without being seen and didn't know that you don't set a clavical so I grabbed on to a rail by the nurses desk and pulled back while pounding on the break to jam it all back into place. They then saw me and sedated me. hahaha
one of the many stories to share. hehe
If I wasn't wearing my helmet then I would be looking just like that guy in the pic.
WEAR THEM HELMETS!
now I know how to keep my head up. the latest crash I traveled over 470' and all that happend to my noggen was an impact abrasion

Kinda speechless :!:
Sounds like youre lucky to be alive youreself :!: I tell you the truth, the next time the little voice starts talking," Im listening". For one I was on semi wet road, leaves had fallen, the road we were on was very rough, and I was leading one gixxer 1000, a gixxer600, an R6 and an f4I and they were kinda pushing me cause I was the old guy. So I decided to show them how to ride. I took my little fzr 600 and was spanking them on a road I really didnt know, "OBVIOSLY" :!:
So Ive paid for that mistake badly. I got at ticket for unsafe speed which the DA through out when he saw how hurt I got, SIMPATHY I guess. So I celebrated by buying a 954. It sure felt good to go riding the other day. I got a chance to scrubb in that new perelli diablo corsa. :P :winner: :D
