was spent up in oklahoma at beavers bend. a group of us went up for a few days and rode some hellacious roads. hwy 1 (wilhelmina trail i think it's called) it runs between Mena ,ar. and talahina, ok. it farkin ROCKED. the scenery, the roads.....just awesome. those mountain roads beat all these roads around here all to hell. I WILL BE BACK!!! :twisted: i also found out that i'm pretty good in the rain. we got caught in a storm on hwy 1, with all it's twisty glory, and i absolutely left the two guys with me.....it was funny. put on about 400 miles...had a blast!! anyway....check out some pics :D

we were close to the ozarks, but were kinda on a time thing with the girls and all, so we didn't head that way. we had to do some things they wanted to do :roll: :P

the rain riding was kinda new. i try not to around here, but i didn't have a choice :P i knew it was time to let up when both tires started to slide. i didn't mind the back end sliding, but when both are and i start sliding towards a drop off.......well....lets just say i was a lil puckered :lol:

oh.....and i have just let her ride it ONE time and she never got it out of first and i was walking beside her the whole time.....i ain't that much of a daredevil :D

I feel for you wheelmax, Ive got all kinds of roads that look just like that here :!: The truth of it is that we even have better ones than that too, (with no guard rail) :wink:

but look at the freakin guardrail......i get tetanus just looking at it with all that rust :eek: that's dangerous too :imslow: :lol:

My femur agrees with you on that one brother :!: I still get the willis when coming into a high speed sweeper when there is guardrail on the other side of the road. Im doing alright with it though, Im getting my knee sliders on the ground :wink:

that's cool to hear truck......i forgot to add that on the other end of that lil stretch of twisties was a tight tight blind 20 with fresh asphalt and gravel on the other side :eek: no signs, no nothing that it was there.......yeah......that made me pucker up real good :ohmygod:

Yup thats how I bought it. Blew into a 20 mph switchback at about 70.


Note: I went back to that curve and at 45 my knee hit the assphault :!: I doesnt pay to run a road hot without knowing it. It'll cost ya :roll:

that's why we were able to make it through ok.....we were running pretty good, but at a comfortable pace because of the girls. i was able to get in the clean line left by cars, but the no sign deal really pisses me off :angered:

yea thats what got me, we were in these fast sweepers then came the curv with no road sighns. I can see those dweebs on the movie Funny Farm with chevy chase that was going around stealing all the frigin road sighns and hanging em on the walls :x

Hahaha, i saw a show on the Discovery Channel a few months back, they say there are sasquatch (bigfoot) type animals that run around in the area of the Ozarks....

You should have shot it, the reward would at least be a new bike :D
