Da999TestastrettaStuna 06-06-2004, 09:28 AM I'm trying to decide which bike I want more.
I'm planing on racing CCS next year in amateur and I want to build a 2004 GSX-R750 race bike. Or I can get a 1000RR and buy my buddies 98 GSX-R750 that is race ready for $3000.
I really like the new 750

Ron_P8 06-06-2004, 08:38 PM I'm having the same dilemma. I love the 1000rr but the suzuki 750 is a nice bike also. Was considering the 750 due to all the stuff I have been reading about the rr recently:-(. Was wondering if it's over blown or not (paint job, speedo, pinging)? However, i'm leaning more towards the 1000rr (black) waiting to see what prevails in a few weeks from the reported issues.
Truck 06-06-2004, 08:56 PM I went riding with some track babies a couple of weeks ago. One was on a TL1000R and the other was on a GIX750. Power wise we were all about equal in the twisties. No one was really pulling or leaving the other one. Its the rider,...uh... I think :!:

Does it really matter what you get? You're not going to ride it anyway and you'll do is talk shit like you have for the past year. If you're going to race CCS, try getting an SV650 and even that may be too much for you.
Tank <-- Still around :D

GeNeRaL 06-07-2004, 10:57 AM If you plan on getting into racing, here's a thought... instead of spending alot of money on a 100RR or "building a gsxr 750 race bike", get a 600RR and ride it stock, you will be on a perfect track bike and in a competative class, and will learn to race it more effectively than on a bigger, "built" bike.

welcome Ron. :D and what's with the pinging?... need to stay up in the octane level if so but I saw shit loads of 1000RR's at Road America and I didn't hear of any problems..
and on with the turbo talk...
Turbo, why you keep changing your mind like a woman? :P
Da1000RRStuna 06-08-2004, 02:15 AM turbo from sound of things you should use your $ towards riding leasons or even better ill teach you for free and from the looks of that garage you parked your bike in ,maybe you should use some $ to clean up the yard and the oil that is all over the floor and maybe a coat of painton the floor and wall, and some fresh gas for your P.O.S. van.. :D
let see..its June and still no sign of you..soon it will be X-mas and you will still be posting the same old bullshit..its getting old and borring Turbo..
nutty954rr 06-08-2004, 08:37 AM start with a 600 its the most competitive and you will learn more and faster which will make you in turn faster.
Ron_P8 06-10-2004, 10:19 PM Thanks for the welcome gntbldr. I was reading another board about the 1000rr and alot of people were talking about these various issues. Most were talking about a pinging noise. Not sure haven't seen anyone here mention it. I'm thinking it is something that is greatly overblown.
fukinnuts 06-10-2004, 10:40 PM I say get what you want. They are all good. I just lean more toward Honda's.
Hey, as long as your not riding a Harley, it's all good :!:
gntbldr 06-11-2004, 10:39 AM sorry for hijackin turbo...
but Ron, your welcome bro, and on to the next... more than likely it is a little overblown with the facts that cheap gas and good bikes don't mix and will get pinging from so. and also when I got the 954 there was a tick that to most was scary sounding but all in all it's just the norm and ok... possibly the ones with the ping were just being over cautious. but on the real cheap gas isn't good.. running 93 octane only.
