New to the site, I just graduated from a f4i to a 1000 bout 3 months ago, and im still an amature rider. I need help learning how to get it up on one wheel and hold it. All my other homeboys i ride with all on gsxr's and they are of no help. lol. I can get it up briefly in 1st just by getting the rpm's up but want to know how to get it up in 2nd and 3rd standing on the bike, I can only do it sittin! Any help? thanks!

If you really want to learn how to ride you need to have the front tire on the ground anyway.

Ballance points is what its all about. what year is you 1000 because mine is an 06 and when it was stock all i had to do was crack the whip in first or second and it would raise up. best thing is not be affraid of dropping it, or go and practice with the old bike. to get used to the ballance point. and go from there. everything takes time and practice. stunters also deflate the rear tire a bit. there are also websites that can give you advice. google it.:ohshit::kickass1:

Didn't even think about the balance points, like I said im still an amature rider. Mine is an 06 as well, and still stock, just bought new rubber front and back. I can get it up on a short distance in first by pullin back in first, havent attempted to many times in second. Im not really affraid of dropping it, just more concerned with pullin back to hard and pullin it back over the top of me! I would practice with the old one but I got rid of it. Thanks for the advice! Soon as I get my race rails for it I will be less concerned with thrashin the skirts on it!
