My 2000 mile old '08 CBR1000rr has just ejected a rod out the bottom of the sump resulting in a very painful and costly highside (100 mph) Oil level was fine, oil and filter had recently been changed, Silkolene oil and genuine filter, engine was running beautifully until failure although did smoke a bit from cold. Has anyone else experienced this? I have heard stories of 'soft' cranks in BSB.

:ohshit: isolated incident or what? main thing is your ok. have you been to the dealer you bought it from? let them plug into it and recall the ecu info ?
