I know this is a topic that has been beaten to death. I have searched and searched the site for days. I just can't decide on an exhaust. My main requirement is it be available in carbon fiber, and be a high mount. I also am trying to steer clear of a PC3. Just don't need the aggrivation of tuning, dynoing....... and so on. I really like the look of the Micron and it's sound, but to my nowledge they don't have a high mount for the 954. I also considered the Devil, or the Yoshimura. I like the appearance of them all. Is getting a slipon or 3/4 system gonna be a mistake? or should I just go for the full system. I'm not searching for outrageous power, just something that looks good and turns heads. :?:

I have a 2Bros full Highmount , carbon can that I am very happy with it's performance. I can warn you their springs for the exhaust systems suck! I changed to Akrapovic springs purchased via my local dealer and have not had them break anymore. I have a PC3 which i installed at the same time therefore I did not experience a difference of the PC3r with or without the exhaust . I can tell you 2Bros are dicks and when I approached them for info as to how to retain the rear foot peg they pretty much tell you to go scratch. But thanks to the reply of a few members here, GeNeRaL. I will be reaching to Devilbikes.com to see if they can sell me their adapter. my $.02, Good luck man!

If your sure you're just wanting the looks and sound, don't waste your money on a full system. I have a carbon yosh tri oval full system, and in my opinion it is one of the best looking cans out. But mine is not a high mount so I'm not sure about the rear peg thing, but I think I remember looking at the high mount yosh pipes and they came with the stuff to remount your pegs.

I was considering Yosh, until the dealer said that they are affiliated with Suzuki, and they make their best stuff for the Suzuki. I agree, I think the Yosh is the best looking carbon can out there. Any chance of posting a pic of your Tri oval? Also, are you using a PC?? Is is necessary? I'm not concerned with the rear footpeg issue. Thanks.

I don't think your dealer knows what there talking about, I think a few years back that may have been true but now I think they test there pipes the same on every bike. I am very pleased with my system, and yes I do have a pc3r, but you may or may not need it, with only a half system or bolt on I don't think I would waste the money. If you decide to go with the full system and pc I've got a custom map that I had done last year, and your welcome to it if you want.

not wanting to spend BIG money. But, whatcha think about the $1200 for the Full yoshi tri oval carbon and PC3?? Is that a reasonable price. If you look in a book for Yoshi exhaust the full system for the 954RR is like twice as much than for any other bike...what's up with that. An R1 full system is only four hundred something versus the $800 for the 954.

i have never seen FULL yoshi systems for that price. i used to look through Dennis Kirk at exhausts, when i was new and dreaming. i saw some of those prices and thought they were cheap for full systems, only to be disappointed. On the other hand, if price is a factor, i don't think you can go wrong with a Hindle. I know the fit and finish isn't up to par with the Akro's and such, but you get good power gains and you can save about 500 bones AND your bike will be running like a scalded ass ape :wink:

1wheel, yeah got it. They quoted me 799.95 for the whole system from starcycle. Yeah, I don't know what book he had, but all the other bikes listed yamaha, suzuki were all in the 400-500 range, but the only one that was rediculous was the 954...like 900 something for the race full system. I think i'm gonna go with the yosh full and PC3. I like the power gains of the hindle, but they don't have anything for looks. The carbon yosh is sick looking, especially the tri oval.

I paid 1040.00 from PipeCity with shipping for my 2Bros full sys highmount with a c05 Carbon can & and PC3R. By the way I called Devil bikes and talked to Rob he kicks ass. He sold me the adapters to put my footpeg back on since 2 Bros wouldnt bother talking to me. They cost me just under 30.00 with shipping.

well after long debate, I ordered the Yosh TRS carbon half system. I decided against the full system because it voids the warranty and I don't want to deal with a PC just yet. I'll post pics once it's on. Thanks for the help everyone!!! Oh yeah I scored it for $572.00

ahhhh true that. I won't even buy an american car for that reason. Should have it by next friday then it's going on. In the meantime I installed the LP shortstalks on the rear. I couldn't stand the look of the spotlights that were on there. Once the exhaust is on I'll post some pics.......although I may need some help, I have no idea how.

hey 1wheel... what would you compare the sound of the TRS too??? D&D-AKRA?? I know it's really crazy that I haven't even heard the exhaust before I bought it, but, it's yosh....it can't sound like shit. I got the race baffle too. I know it's not going to sound like D&D but was just throwing some ideas out there to see what it's gonna sound like.

I really don't know what to compare it too, its not as loud as a D&D and is alot deaper sounding, I haven't heard to many 954's, and the ones I have heard we're Jardine, Akro, and D&D. and they all have a very distinctive sound.

well, holy sh*t. The exhasut is already here. I ordered it on Sat. and got it today (WED), and of course it's already on.....so I'm going to post pics on that snapfish, but don't know what to do from there. The fit and finish is excellent, not to mention a hell of a lot lighter. I didn't get actual lbs difference, but just feeling it was enough proof for me. The only tricky part I ran into was the top bolt on the HTEV. I didn't have an extension (go ahead laugh) long enough to reach it, so went to sears and picked up a jointed extension and that did the trick. I haven't heard any other 954's to compare the sound to, but it is a deep rumble down low and sounds damn good up in the RPM's too. Needless to say I give it a 10, It's just what I wanted.

I like the sound of the micron too, but I don't like the look of the stock "cone" there where it meets the canister. I like the stainless pipe a lot better. Had any problems with it fading?? I read on here that people had probs with the microns fading??

I heard that the Microns fade, too. It's been on there about a month and I haven't noticed any difference in the color. I guess time will tell.

I rode a 954 with a D&D on it and HATED IT. It was so damn loud I didn't even want to ride it!. All you can focus on is that damn pipe ringing through your head.

I guess I can't really say, I only had 3000 miles on it when I put the new pipe on. I guess it's fast enough for me so i'm happy. I'm gonna prob do a PC3 later on, but it's running fine as it is now.

i had a full Arrow Ti on my first 954 and it is the best exhaust I have ever had. Wicked noticable power additive and sounds better than anything out there. I give it a 10 out of 10.

I have a Jardine now and give it an 8 out of 10.
