I was driving my bike today and the red light came on and the letters FI, what does this mean?

pretty sure that signifies something with the Fuel Injection. I think I read something about those lights in the owners manual. That's the extent of what I know....sorry.

I left the bike at the dealer for about a week, putting on tires. Then on the way home I noticed the lights on.

But I did wash the bike before I took it to the dealer but not with a high pressure hose. Just a normal garden hose.

Mine came on when I pinned down the flapper valve in the air box.
Put it back to normal and the light went away..

the owners manual describes a couple scenarios of that light coming on so hit that up when you get a chance...
The only time I've had mine come on was when I tucked the flapper and took off the cables to the htev exhaust valve and disconnected the plug to the servo motor by the air box. that plug needed to be connected to complete the circuit.
sooo hence forth water temporarily shortin out a circuit also as jimmy mentioned.

keep us informed if you would please. :)

I can't find my owners manual, but a guy on a different forum showed me the codes for the FI.

It flashes 3x1.3= 30 + 5 blinks equals 35. In the FI codes it said that it is a faulty EGCV and air intake valve servo motor. What I was wondering is it all right to drive it like this and how do I fix it.

gntbldr where is the air box located, so I can check to see if the servo motor is connected.

before you go on with all of this I still think you need to follow your exhaust valve cables up to the servo motor and make sure everything is moving smoothly for if the servo motor binds up at all that FI indicator will show up also.
there has been one person I remembering saying he had rocks stuck in his exhaust valve linkage under that little metal cover where the cables hook up on the valve.

but....
it's under the tank.
1st take off your seat with a long hex wrench (two bolts at the rear corners of the seat)and remove the 'tank stay' clipped in the back of the seat (gold looking piece of metal rod)next take out the two bolts by the steering stem and the small screws that hold on the imitaion air duct cowlings on.
now you can lift the tank up at the front and prop it up with that metal rod from under the seat.

there are like 6 or 8 screws holding on the air box cover and remove those ONLY with a magnetic tip screwdriver (you can buy a magnetizer from a hardware store or sears)
then you take off the air box cover and remove the air filter to see the servo motor at the front left of the air box.
disconnect the plug to that and see if the connections are clean.
another thing you check the connections on are the two large plugs under the back right side of the tank which are your ecu/efi connections.

good luck with it and take your time and figure it out. I wouldn't drive with it like that in fear of it just stopping running but I've never heard of that happening.
