Bare with me guys, this is going to be a long post. I have a bit of a story to share with you. I'm always at this forum (just reading with VERY little posting). I don't have much info to give, I just like to learn.

The story goes a little something like this. In January 2003 I bought a 2002 CBR 954. Got a killer deal on it 1400 miles and I stole it for $6000. It was cherry. Although I loved this bike, I REALLY wanted the 04 1000RR. I was riding my bike on May 12, and a lady decided to turn left across traffic. I was going about 50 mph and I had two options. Lay the bike down, or hit her square on. I consider myself a fairly expierenced rider, so of course I layed the bike down. I clipped her, and continued to slide for a while. When it was all said and done, I pretty much walked away un scaved. I was lucky because stupid me I was riding with shorts, sandles, a T-shirt, No gloves, and no helmet. My injuries were just road rash on the palms of my hands. The doctors said it was equivilant to a 4th degree burn and it hurt like a bitch. RULE 1 PAGE 1, LET THE BIKE TAKE THE DAMAGE AND NOT YOU .I was lucky enough to let this happen (Granted I was only going 50 mph, but it could have been ALOT worse). It was a horrible sight, pieces of my bike all over the highway.

Now the good news. Obviously, this was entirely the other lady's fault. Her insurance totaled out my bike and gave me book value and them some. I got a check for $9,300. On June 11 I finally got my local dealership down to $10,500 OTD. So basically it cost my $1200 and there I was with my BRAND NEW 2004 CBR 1000 (Although my family wasn't too happy about the purchase :x ).

I just wanted to share that story with you guys, I haven't been able to type for the last 3 weeks because of the bandages on my hands, but there off now. Needless to say I will NEVER ride without a helmet and gloves again, it scared me that much.

This Forum KICKS ASS, by far the best on the Web. You guys keep up the good work. I guess I should change my user name since I don't ride a 954 anymore hehehe.

Let me clarify, I said $10,500 OTD, but I still have to go the DMV and pay TTL. So it actually costs around $10,900.

Thanks guys. I'll be around now that I can type. I like it here because nobody takes themselves too serously, and everyone can take a joke (well MOSTLY everyone), except for the Bitches who think they are too good.

I'll post picks this weekend :D
