All you guys and girls out there, I just want to tell you all to please keep your wits about you at all times when you are riding and always think twice before you do something. It's usually not us, but the other assholes on the road we have to share with.

I'm saying this because one of my friends was killed Friday night in Laconia, NH during bike week. He was just cruising along at 40mph on his VFR and some fucker clipped him an sent him hurling right into the bed of his truck. He was airlifted to the hospital, but it was too late. He was pronounced dead when he got to the operating table.

This event has made me think twice now about riding my own bike. I was considering selling it. I'm still not sure. Riding is the one thing I really look forward to doing whenever I get the chance to. And fuckers like that ruin in for all of us. I know we all know the risks involved, it's a desision we've all made a long time ago. I'm just asking that you guys be careful out there! It easy sometimes not to concern ourselves with other people's tragedies, however we are all vulnerable out there. Have fun, but for God's sake think about this story for a minute and RIDE SAFE!! Take care all of you!!

Sincerely,

Taso

R.I.P. Mike ....I'll see you around sometime

i'm so sorry to hear that Taso. our thoughts and prayers are with you and your friend's family. try not to let this tragedy make you give up what you love doing. freak accidents happen. about all you can do is learn from them and let that make you a more cautious rider. is anything gonna happen to the driver that clipped him?? i get tired of hearing....."oh he was going so fast........i didn't see him......that's what he gets for riding a motorcycle"

take care taso and good luck

Yea its always an eye opener. Definatly makes you question wheather its worth it to ride or not. I think that its as simple as this, if you have a confidence problem you probably dont need to ride, however if its just a velidity problem youll probably get over it in time. Im sorry to hear about this its hard to loose a friend. Anywayz my riding summer is over as of thursday to go through surgery so I understand exactly where youre comming from. :(

Hey TAS,
That is so hard. I just went through something similar, only my best friend lived. I am currently working my way back onto my bike, but still fighting it. It's a big monkey on my back. But, I have finally come to the conclusion that I'm not going to let some dirt bag dictate what I do for the rest of my life. I am also much more careful now. Always wear your gear. Good luck with this, bro.
