: Update on my wife.

Well, maybe you read the newspaper quote. It was actually quite a bit worse than that. She got dragged across two lanes of traffic. The cager said the sun was in his eyes and couldn't see.........

She's just out of her second surgery and has her 3rd scheduled for next week. Perhaps 2 more after that.
The second cop on the scene was on a Harley and I can't say how much he helped me out. He took care of me and also kept me from killing the cager which I tried to do. He told me that if he could he would have helped me. He was a cool cop.

I would like to thank this board for your caring. Sometimes I can piss people off and be an ass, but I try never to hate and it's what I like about this board. Ride hard as hell!! No time for the bullshit.

Just to let you know, she wants to know when she can ride again. I think she must get it from GNT or something. Me, I'm not sure. I just don't know. I am working on it. Too many terrible images still.

The little black CBR was crushed. But from what I saw, this might sound weird, but she put herself between my wife and the tires of the truck.

One last thing. Everybody, WEAR YOUR GEAR! PLEASE! The paramedics, EMT's Police, all came over and thanked us for wearing our gear. This was the 4th bike wreck for them in two days, My wife was the only one that there was anything left of for them to work on. The others had no gear, ALL DIED! My wife, although she suffered a major leg injury, had remarkably little other rash or cuts. Her helmet saved her life.

Thanks again BRO's.

great news!!! Tell her to keep her spirits high, and heal quick.

on a side note- If the sun was in his eyes and he couldn't see, then why did he decide to drive before correcting his impairment? might be something you want your lawyer to ask him.

YUP! Exactly. The Harley cop picked up on this one immediately. Asked him if that was his standard procedure. If you can't see, just push down the accelerator.

Lore is OK. Has a few more surgeries to go, much more pain to deal with, but she's a lot tougher than I am. She's still whining about her bike and when she can go ride. I think I need to get her on this board. She will fit right in.

Thanks guys. WEAR YOUR GEAR!

just got back with B from being out of town for some... fun. She almost got nailed twice from ighnorant IL drivers near Gurnee and I wasn't hesitant one second to defend her. both scenarios were inatentive drivers. completely.
we took all back roads until we couldn't which is all it seems that B will be wantiong to do from now on.

Pete, thank you for keeping us up to date on Lori's recovery and standings. It's good to know that she's a super trooper... lol... I said super trooper. hehe
Keep up the good work . Lori has an excellent spouse and you are one lucky sob.

make sure you keep up on checking your mail and giving her what others gave. much of it all has magical healing powers when one know's they are supremely supported by others that they have never even heard of or met.

I will say this for sure. I have had many of tears so far by reading how strangers can support and care by just loving one another without prejudice.

Dearest Pete and Lori I send you all my love and prayers. I can't tell you how much your prayers and kind words help me though my and Gnt's wreck. My Mom put it the best when she told me that God doesn't give you more then you can handle. This will only make you stronger then you already are. Lori, when you feel ready again, ride when you feel comfortable, don't let anyone decide for you. I was riding in my back brace 3 months after our accident even though most people said I was stupid for ever getting back on a bike again. People will tell you things you probably won't want to hear, usually about there opinions on motorcycles. I will tell you it is hard hearing the stories of how somebody knows somebody who was in an accident, and it is the hardest thing to hear when you are healing yourself. If you need a should to cry on or a helping hand, Gnt and I are here for you both. If you have any questions I will try to help, believe me I have learned a lot about how the human body heals and how to deal with all the mixed emotions you feel. Take care. Lots of Love, B

The doctor and surgeon both told me that if I hadnt been wearing mine i most likely wouldnt of survived the wreck.
Dont be ignorant wear youre gear. My son at the age of five thinks i look like the blue power ranger when I suit up but I know that I stand a good chance of comming home by being protected.

Older, Hows the wife, Can we have an update? :)

Lore is doing OK today. The doc postponed the skin and muscle grafts because she has healed better than expected and wants to give her a little more time. So it was only me who cried today because I was so happy for her. Everytime I walk in on her, she is practicing shifting so she knows she can still do it. I think this extra work and motion in her foot is causing the healing. Go figure.
THX again guys. I believe we are now out of the woods. again, THX!
