: Financing Help???
CBR1KRR 07-11-2004, 08:59 AM Ok guys I want to finance the 1000RR, but my credit score is very low. So do anyone know a finance company that works with people with low credit scores. I can't find a co-signer so I have to get this on my own. I don't care about the intrest rate just as long as they can get me the bike.
Thanks.
try a larger down payment. i put down 2500
CBR1KRR 07-11-2004, 09:11 AM I asked a local dealer here when they did the credit check but he said that particular company wants a certain credit score to be approved no matter how much you put down. It wasn't honda finance, but I doubt they will finance me. I can put more down though.
Any more suggetions?????
Anonymous 07-11-2004, 09:44 AM The problem with financing a bike when you have a low FICO score is that they figure you dont need a bike like you might need a car so it becomes a pleasure item and the financing requirements are alot tougher......... I thought you already had a 1krr
CBR1KRR 07-11-2004, 09:48 AM No not yet, that's my screen name. I will have one soon though. Just trying to get it finance instead of paying cash for it.
Truck 07-11-2004, 10:03 AM You can try the local finance Co. Trans South or Someone like that. If there is anyone that will give you a loan then thats youre only hope. Im glad to hear that you dont mind a high interest rate cause there gonna lay one on you. You know youre gonna pay for that thing three times by the time its paid for. You might either go for a model that you can pay cash for or ebay a wrecked one and restore it. Making money decisions like this is whats giving you a bad credit score anyway. Not trying to bust your bubble or anything you just might want to use a little wisdom. I like owning my 954 with no payments :D
CBR1KRR 07-11-2004, 10:30 AM Thanks
FLIP954RR 07-11-2004, 12:04 PM You have to go to a dealership that deals with people with bad credit or no credit at all. Its harder to get approved for a bike loan than a car loan, because like 2K2 said, its a luxury item and not a necessity. When I first bought my bike,my credit was so-so,so when i got approved, the interest was like 21% and I put like 2grand down. After a year,i refinanced though and got a 6.9%. Even a personal loan, its going to be tough to get you approved, because like you said,ur credit score is low or you have no credit at all. Banks look at credit like if you have no credit, even if your credit score is low--you still MIGHT have a chance getting approved. Or even worse--bad credit where you had slow payments or charge offs or whatsoever. Best bet is if you belong to a credit union at work, you might try applying there first if anything, cuz they automatically take out your payment from your paycheck before you see it,so there is absolutely no way of you missing a payment with them.
I deal with this at work all day everyday,I sell cars for a living,so if you have any other questions, just ask!! :D
Good Luck and Ride Safe

resuscit8u 07-13-2004, 08:28 PM My girlfriend bought mine for me, just like she did for the 954, and the VFR, easiest financing I have ever seen!
gntbldr 07-13-2004, 11:24 PM what is the bright side of a high interest loan is if you rating isn't all that good and some company gives you a hand out you take it and pay it off like no tomorrow as with whatever you can one bill at a time...
That technique got me my last 3 bikes
as was mentioned find another dealer and be patient with the whole ordeal. I have known people to get loans right after a bankrtupcy
CBR1KRR 07-14-2004, 08:42 AM I'm trying to be patient but DAMN!!!!!....it's HARD!!!!!
I can't stop thinking and dreaming about this bike. I never wanted something so bad before. Well my first bike, but that was a 600(F3) it's time for the 1000RR now!!!!
Black1000RR 07-14-2004, 08:34 PM uhhhh pay cash like me ... LOL it's a lot easier like that no payment to make in the snow!
nj954rr 07-14-2004, 10:48 PM if you haven't tried to have honda finance it, give them a shot. it is their product and they may be more lenient with you, especially if you put a nice piece of change down. the dealer should have told you this, but they don't make shit on 6.9% apr so that may be why they didn't offer to send the application to honda. worse that could happen, they turn you down. if you don't ask, you don't get! by the way, wassup to all the fellas! my old name was nj929rr on 954rr.com! 8)
CBR1KRR 07-15-2004, 09:25 AM Well I just got my reply back from Honda finance and wells fargo and they both said no. I guess I will have to pay cash b/c my credit score is just too low.

Don't take this as me being an ass, but if you have the cash to buy the bike, why don't you get out of debt first, then buy the bike? With low credit scores, you'll never get a home loan, pay BIG interest on auto loans and run into the same situation you are now if you ever want to get another "pleasure" item.
Just my $.02,
Tank
Da1000RRStuna 07-15-2004, 11:52 AM sell drugs and pay it in full with a stack of Frankin's

I'm not a dummy by any means. I don't have the cash for it now, I would have to save up. If I did have the cash as bad as I want the bike I would pay off some of this stuuf on my credit THEN get the bike. I was just trying to finance it now so I won't have to wait 6-7 months from now to pay it in cash
