Anyone have a MAP for a 954 with a Micron bolt-on can?
Can't find one anywhere... or if anyone knows of a good place to have the bike dyno tuned around NJ I would appreciate the info.
Thanks,
Bob.

resuscit8u,
Thanks for the .map, I'll have to give it a try....
If anyone has anymore, I'd be willing to try them out as well....

Would anyone happen to know the difference between US and French models (954)... the .map from resuscit8u is a French model and I don't want to get like a mile from my house and end up having to disconnect the PCIII just to get the bike home...
Any help would be appreciated.
Bob.

mostly elevation discrepancies with european stuff and being you're in jersey I'd say you should be ok. also since you don't have a cali model with all the emissions control you have less worries.
No worries. serious. try it out and if you don't like it plug back in the stock map.
you may benifit from just adjusting the pc to 1.5 notches up on the low end and one notch up on the mid and maybe a half notch on the top... till you can locate a righteous custom map that someone would be willing to share.

gntbldr,
Thanks for the info, I ended up putting it all on last nite and took it for a short (20 min.) ride. Seems like the mid-range roll ons are much smoother and actually pulls into the higher R's a lot easier... but defiantly feels like more could be done with a better tune. I guess its time to spend the coins and get a dyno tune, just gotta find a good shop to do it.
resuscit8u,
Thanks for the .map... A lot better then the stock fuel curve.
BTW: Anyone know if that curve is richer or leaner? Cause my bike has always run rich, and last night it smelt even more like fuel, but then again I was ridin' with a friend whose got a Gixxer and those thing just spit raw fuel so I don't know if it was my bike or his....
Thanks again guys.

what type of change happened to the low end and also have you tried any high speed runs to test the high end too?
you may be able to adjust the pc well enough till you get the $ saved up for a custom map.
one thing... are you sure you want to keep the bolt on? because custom maps are expensive.
had one done on the 954 and it was $250.00 but worth every penny with how Awesomely smooth and punctual it was. completely changed the bike from having a 'work with' situation with the peaks and valleys and made it into a 'fully useable' situation and didn't have to plan for a lag at any point in any condition.
power was always smooth and right there.

gntbldr,
I was thinking about doing a full system. I've heard, and maybe I've been mislead, but I heard when you remove the exhaust valve, you will end up with driveability issues. I ride my '54 damn near everyday and do everything from just crusin in traffic to peggin the tach on interstates...
Like I said, I may have been misled, but I am looking for good power without touching the motor (cams and pistons) for a reasonable price...
What kinda full systems do they have out there that give good power and sound? Do any even retain the valve?
Thanks.

no full systems retain the htev. yet you could get what you are looking for by even just getting a custom map with your bolt-on.
you may get a mild gain with a full system but then that's alomst a grand for that and then the approx. $250 for the custom mapping to make it smooth as silk at every single rpm.
there is two custom maps floating around this forum.
one mj had done for a full hindle and is willing to share it and the other I had done for a full akrapovic evolution and I have that for grabs too...
if you decide to full system it go with one of them two and then tuck the flapper and let her fly!
but for the time being we may be able to bash out whatever kinks or dips you may have to hold you off till you do get a full system or just have a map made.
what's your bike doing at what rpm? in detail. every little thing that you could say isn't perfect.

I contacted Micron directly and asked them if their shop has done any R&D with a slip-on and a stock 954 and they were kind enough to supply me with 2 maps... one a base line map with says its for a European model CBR900RR which they say will work just fine (have yet to try it) and the second appears to be a custom .map for a 2002 954 (1025mB/ 20C - Water 88 Deg C - 10 PTS = 1 Ration - Stock Air Filter And Micron Slip on) looks kind of promising...
I'm gonna attempt to attach them to this post in .zip format, but if anyone has any problems downloading them... E-Mail me at Micron954rr@aol.com and I'll be happy to send them to ya...
and once again, Thanks to you guys that have helped me so far...
