Yes you read it right! I have found a crack in the crankcase just above the stator cover. I thought it was the stator cover, sealed it up w/ a new gasket, and Viola, still leaking. I cleaned the entire right side of the engine, powdered her up real nice w/baby powder, and about an inch above the stator cover... a crack about an inch and a half long. It wraps around the left front head stud area, Damn near the whole way around the head stud boss!
Now, my dilemma. I have a real problem with trusting a wrench to this magnitude of work. I'm a tech in a dealership, but we do not deal w/ Hondas. All of the other dealerships around the area , in my opinion, do not have competent techs. I live in eastern Pa. Does anyone know of a competent, qualified Honda tech, nearby that can handle this?
Thanx in advance... BTW, I would also like it done in a timely manner, so I can get some mileage on her this year.

The easiest way without disasebling the whole thing is to have it tig welded........... My boys crack cases all the time and we dont even drop the motor to repair it.....

I know a shop that will be able to handle this type of repair, I dont know the name of the town but its near Downy Park I think...The name of the shop is Pro Fab racing and ask for Chris he is the owner....Its a good shop he builds alot of race motors and does very clean work too... He built a few motors for my friends and also did some work on my bike and we were always satisfied with his work with no problems. If you have trouble getting the number let me know and I will get it for you...

Rippin,
Thanx for the heads up on Pro Fab. I'm aware of Chris and his reputation. (great reputation) I'm capable of doing the repair myself, just no time and it's not fair to me to repair my own shit if I have the warranty. :(
2K,
My problem is it's still in the extended warranty and I want it fixed by Honda. If it were out of warranty, I would weld it myself. I'm looking for a highly respected Honda dealership with a quality wrench who will do the job right in the first place.
As we all know, in the motorcycle industry, there are very few techs who are capable of doing this stuff correctly, let alone diagnose an electrical problem quickly.
If the bike were out of warranty, I would just do it myself. But with my schedule ( Over 30 engine rebuilds this year already) I will not be able to do it until fall.
