hey guys quick question about 954 Going to be going to the dyno and the place is a harley specialist so he asked me if there was a easy way to get to the plugs and cylinders without taking the plastic off. I think that the tank lifts up to get to all that but I'm not really sure. Anyone let me know how to get to them would be a real help

ok... here's a quote:
do not take the fairings off, i don't think that would have helped at all, pulled the gas tank loose, tied it back, removed airbox lid, removed velocity stacks, pulled lower airbox loose did not remove just moved up to access the cam cover, removed the individuals coils and then the plugs, thanks for the advice on doing it this way, tried to do it this way before I started the thread or read the owner's manual but when I pulled the gas tank up I seen the airbox and thought no way that got to be a pain to take off, so I looked in the manual and it said to remove both bottom fairings and loosen the radiator to access the plugs, but that is definitely not the easy way, go through the top if you are gonna do it, thanks again fellas

btw... why the heck do they want to get to your plugs for a dyno run?...
I've been to many of them and even went through a custom map tuning session and the plugs do not need to be gotten to.

Perhaps their dyno needs to read RPM from a plug wire. If so they probably dont have the resources to computer tune a bike. They might only be able to tell if something is lean or rich and at what points in the rev range. Good for seeing what your bike puts out but not good for getting the most out of it. Could play with a few maps to see which is the best on paper though.

If you're going to lift me up, you might want to consider getting another helper...or were you talking about the gas tank? :D
