Not Chevy.....GMC. 8.1 liters of pure, stump pulling power. Even more after the Hypertech Power Programer and K&N filter. My wife drives an 03' GMC Yukon XL with the 8.1 liter and every bell and whistle. Sure is fun smokin wanna-be tuner cars in either of these trucks. Sometimes even with a trailer :D Oh yeah, did I ever mention that I like horsepower?

i rode a gix 1000 today .... a lot more intimidating than the rr not as refined and mabey a touch more accelleration but it could just be that the power curve is not near as smooth as the rr

Yea my brother has a 02 R1 and his power curve is so smooth that it doesnt feel as fast as my 54, but I can tell you it is faster than my 54. My 54 is very responcive and comes on very strong with the throttle. You cant judge em by how they feel thats for sure. My brother even just droped a tooth on the front sprocket and its even faster.

One other thing is that powere is only good if you can use it. 8)

Don't let your Honda know you were cheating on her  Was it as flickable? How did it feel besides power?

honestly besides the power curve it felt very similar .... and the seat was a lil softer ... over all i would take either but if i could buy again i would buy the honda once more!!!

When one is stabel it enspires confidence to go faster and ride better and safer. I was having a problem with my 54 until I put a scotts on and now Im real comfy on her. 8)

Since I need a new bike, that what I wanted to hear! But I'd go Honda no matter what. Been on Hondas since I was 13 and they never let me down. Even my wife rides Red, 300EX quad that is :)

i wasn't able to get it into any real tight twisties because i was borrowing for a short ride while he waited at the house but if i had to guess from what i saw it would be just as agile the only real diff as far a chassis and handeling is that i noticed is the under power out of the corners the front likes to skimm a lil more than the honda (shorter swingarm?) I haven't read the specs!

plus with the honda you get whats gotta be a 1000$$$$$$$ damper for the same green

Actually with the braking system and the upgrade forks and swingarm you probably are getting more arent you. The gixxie hasnt changed any of that in a few years. 8)

like i said i don't know much about the gixx tech specs just feel and that feel only come from a rider with 3 yrs of riding experience.

Well you dont exactly have to be a pert ex to go from one bike to another and know which one feels better. Ill take your word on that

like i said i would take the honda but the gix is no slouch ...

I agree, personally if you threw a blanket on all four bikes then take your pick, they are so close it isnt funny. Its all preferance. The mags hype up what they think is the bad boy on the block and down what they think is the sloutch. The Honda is getting a bad rap with em and really the differences are less than a second. Well I like usable power and stableness.
