Newbie here,This might offend some but here goes,I love to go fast but not all that fast around corners.As I have had a few mishaps with loose debris.Anyway ,have a vega that runs 9.70s in the 1/4 mile at 139 mph,1/8 mile in 6.teens.On my cbr954,who makes an extended swing arm(if anyone)or can the original be motified so I can lauch it hard.went to the track test and tune(didn't run it though) but noticed all the street bikes really sucking on the take off but had great mph at the big end. A busa ran only 10.42 at 141 mph which could have been 9.'s easy if he had gotten off the line better.Seen a few second gear starts with not much better results.Want to lower mine about 2 inches and extend the swing arm at least 4 inches. Any thoughts laughs or giggles?laters

Want to burn up your clutch? Then take off in 2nd!(dont do that) Lower the rear and strap the front, you might run 10.60's if your a good rider, you can dump $$ in the 954 but it aint gonna help much, sell it and get a ZX-12 with NOS. Thats what I want next. weeeeeeeeeeee

oh yea, I will keep the Gixxie for the wheelies, use the 12 to race. weeeeee

I figured as much on the burning up the clutch.But anyway Friends r6 ran 11.50 at 124 mph which in a decent car running the same mph would be 10.70's 80's.Just figured the 954 should run low 10's if it hooked hard.Did see a test article where it gives the 1/4 mie times on several bikes and they list the 954 running 10.30's stock at 138 mph. whats up with that?gixer1k running 10.19 at 141.

well, the mags ran 10.30 on a 02 954, yea right! 04 1000rr 10.30? my 954 would run 6.80@110 strapped, never 1/4 miled it but the would be around 10.60-70, my 01 GSXR-1000 ran 10.20@139mph, yet to run my 04 Gixxie in the 1/4mi. Gixxie did run a 6.80@114mph no strap, wheelied half the track. Get some swingarm extensions, lower it and strap it, 10.20-30's are possible, but you got to launch it hard. weeeeee

10.30 on a STOCK 1000rr? 954 is quicker? Duh, sell yer 1000's and go back to the 954's, you got ripped off. weeeee

vega is a small block no nos 1 carb.388 350 block 3.75 stroke.2400 pounds wet,570 h.p.laters.it also can wheelie ,now has wheelie bars.
