Hooked up with NESBA for a 2 day event at VIR. On the patriot course Sun, and the North track Mon. Had brand new M1's on 954 and they were great. After each session, it looked like someone took a blow torch to the sides of the tires. They heated up great and never let my confidence in them down. VIR is a world class facility. NESBA is well organized and very courtious. There is, however, a bit of bad news. The HIGHSIDE I went for on the middle of the first day (my stupidity). Thought I was in third shifting down to second, when actually was in second shifting down to first. Back tire locked up and off I went. Incredibly enough I was fine and so were all the functional components of the bike (both the bike and I landed off the pavement on the grass). Took it to the pits, a little cutting, wire tying, and cursing, I was able to re-tech the bike. Ordered the $2000 worth of parts from Ron Ayers and scheduled the full track at VIR with Sport Bike Track Time on Aug 27th. Hope see some of you guys out.

Sorry to hear about the damage but glad to see it did'nt spook you. You are now an official track junkie. There are far more worse addictions  Do you have any pics?

Could have gotten away with spending less, but I wanted the bike back to its flawless state. Have some pics of me on the "naked bike" on the track, and some stills in the pits. Will post them as soon as I figure out how to. I think I was a little more aggressive after the incident than before, figured "what do I have to loose?". Started out dragging the peg slidders, took them off and followed with dragging my knee on the rights, couldn't quite get the lefts... yet.

Dragin peg sliders before knee? Technique brother, technique. Sounds like you have to get off the bike a bit more. Thats what track days are for. And dont worry about that other knee, I'm sure it will have its formal introduction with the asphalt during your next track day  Can't wait to see those pics :!:
