Damn nails. I got one in the rear tire, it's only got 3000 miles on it and now I gotta get a new one. I think I'm just gonna put the Bridgestone Batlaxx back on unless there is a really good reason to go with a pirelli or Metzeller. Whatcha think??

someone told me not to take that risk with a motorcycle tire b/c if it decides to blow, you don't have 3 others to save your ass. Anyone else say just plug/patch??

If you plan on doing over 150mph, get new tires, if you never do 120mph plug/patch. weee

you could try to find someone that does heat patches on the inside of the tire, that worked good for me. just remember.....you're still on a patched tire

I've plugged a tire and put on at least 2000 hard miles on it. The safest way to repair it is to take the tire off the rim patch it and your good to go. But if you got the money than buy a new tire.

I got 7000 miles semi-hard riding on a pair of Battleax Bt012's

They are good tires

Plug/patch is one piece, its a plug and a patch that you put on the inside of the tire the plug sticks thru the hole, its not a plug and a patch, no way to sling out the plug. weeee

Aren't your tyres shot at 3000 miles anyway, mine only last 3000km.
Id go for the new tyre, but then again tyres seem cheaper in Aus than the US by the prices quoted on this site.

slime the tire????

i heard that works great in ATV tires, but to never ever put that kind of stuff in MC tires....especially one that will do 160+

elaborate plzzz

don't know how i got 7000 miles on my tires, i guess i just did.... lucky? I never did burnouts or any of that bullshit on them for one, and i made sure to use the whole tire... other than that your guess is as good as mine...

no plug or patch.

I have pirelli diablos and love them compared to the michelin pilot sports i had. nite and day difference. I also hear great things about the M1's.

I have the diablo corsas and they stick when others let go but dont be fooled on what they say about the rain, they let go real easy in the wet.

Wheelie is right if you use the plug/patch itll never come out. I put a brand new BT-10 and three days later got a nail, patched it and wrode it the life of the tire. Then the same thing happed all over again exept it took about two months before picking up a nail.

It's always up to you, but I wouldn't trust a patch doing anything over the speed limit. A patch will also void any warranty. Personally, and this is definitely a personal opinion, I like the Perelli and the Metz. much more than the Batts. If you ride where you get lots of weather change, Perelli is an awesome rain tire. Warms up quicker than the Batt does too. My fave summer tire is still the M1. Perelli a very close second. Again, just another opinion.

what pirelli tire are you all referring to? I'm gonna check into them. I don't ride in the rain. Onlly because i'm a total neat freak and don't wanna spend the time polishing and cleaning everything again. But i hear the pirelli heats up quicker, how's it last for everyday riding to and from work?? it's not a 2000 mile lifelong tire is it??

SORRY took so long to get back. I was talking about the Perelli Diablo. Not quite the tire that the Corsa is, but the Corsa is more for track. IMO, Diablo is an excellent tire. I got roughly 3500-4000 mi. of hard riding out of it. It warms up quickly. Almost as sticky as the M1 but you gotta give up something and the M1 gives up mileage...... I think you'd like the Diablo. It's a fine tyre.

I'm gonna look into the Diablo. Sounds like a good tire. Thanks for the info.
