whats goin on guys?! As some of you know,my 54 got stolen last year around Feb. and i've been bikeless ever since-and to add to it,i recently became a Daddy 2 and a half months ago :absolute: :airborne: so that made the fact of being bikeless easier for me!!! :D Now here's where I need the advice,im currently getting the itch to ride again, not balls out like Stunna, but just ride to ride and I'm currently got my eyes on 2 bikes that i've seen over the weekend!! Here's the lowdown on both of them:
1. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2485383542&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT
I spoke to the guy and he said that he would take $5500 for it with all those things on the bike, I do not want the jacket and helmet.
2. 2002 Yammie R1 with about 9700 miles on it. The bike has been laid down by the first owner and the 2nd owner which is the person im trying to negotiate with, this is his first bike :eyepopping: it has a CLEAN Florida title-but the title says 11500 on it-im guessing the odometer has been changed or something, the kid said that he messed up when he was trying to register it cuz he forgot the mileage on the bike and just guessed. The only thing that I can see from the bike is that the fairings were put back together sloppy, the lower fairings dont line up with the upper fairing where the headlight is. Plus the midpipe on the Micron high pipe is scraped along with small part on the tail. Also, the right rearset is grounded out,but not that bad. The R1 got the Micron High Mount, Flush mount front turn signals, solo seat cowl and the tail light integrator and a tinted windscreen.
Now the GREAT part,im trying to get him down to $5000--his original asking price was $6700. He said his mom is making him get rid of the bike after his friend passed away,i think from riding bikes. So what do you guys think??? let me know please!!

If you can get the R-1 for $5000 then get it! That would be cheap money for a strong bike with a ton of life left on it.

$5000 sounds like a hell of a deal to me, for a 02 R1.

I dont know brother, that sound fishy to me. I would opt to believe your first gut feel and thats probably right. I feel the way you do. That 750 with only 1500 miles on it is barely broke in, I believe that id go that way. Has the 750 been laid down? I didnt read that far. Heres another idea. You can get a 03 954 for the same amount as that 750 and ive even seen them going for less. Of course theres nothing wrong with the 750 exept i know a guy here thats got one that the motor is wiped out on at 23,,000 cause he likes those long wheelies and it must of wore the motor out. Just things to consider.

if it sounds too good to be true, it is.

the R1 sounds like trouble, and junk.

i wouldn't buy an R1 unless it had a full warranty. lol

good luck in your search man.
