So what have you guys done as far as mods?

not trying to say you ride slow, cause i dont know you, but i know alot of guys on 600's that will smoke alot of other guys i know on 1000's with 5 or 6 grand into making their bikes "fast."

When talking about "sport bikes" i think it's safe to remember the quote... "there are no fast bikes, only fast riders" :)

General,

You're absolutely right. It's all rider. I never said I was going to be fast. I just had surgery for Christ sakes.

I know a couple of guys that will kick my ass on a 600. They're fast as hell. At Pocono east 1:17s are considered fast. I know a guy that runs 10s with a passenger on the back of his bike.

140hp and 80ft lbs of torque on a Duc is like 160hp on an inline four dude. Don't you know motors.

You need to do some math. $25G and you still come short! Dont mean to bust your balls or tell you how to spend your money but you ripped yourself off.

Question:

In World Superbike last year, Gregorio Lavillia's GSX-R1000 was making 200hp. Neil Hodgeson's bike was only making 185hp. But Neil Hodgeson's bike would be clearly faster down the straights at any track. How do you explain this?

Simple...... ALL HORSEPOWER IS NOT CREATED EQUAL!!!!!!

Should have spent your extra settlement $ on a better van that will get your $25G bike to the track so you can get schooled by some guy on a 500EX.

Correction, horse power is horse power. The difference is where in the RPM range it is being produced and is that where you need it. A 6000 HP drag car could never tow a trailer as well as my 370+ HP truck. On the same token, I would never race the same car in the quarter mile. A 370 hp car could never tow a trailer as well as my truck either. Gearing has a great deal to do with the results you are after.

did he just call me DUDE??!!??

LOL :D

no i don't know much about V's other than i don't want one.

you wasted your time and money on mods to a bike you don't even know how to keep upright. ducati's are overpriced PERIOD, for what you get and what they are.

and i thought Niner54 asked about 1000RR mods :P

This thread has proven that there is no need to do any mods to your 1000rr so long as you are running against a Duc 999s (the real Shit Wagon)!

Wrong.

Horsepower may be horsepower but I'd rather have a bike with 140 hp that puts everything to the ground than a bike with 175 that's spinning all over the place.

Your right , your bike does put all of its power to the ground really hard. Hard on its side you Squid!

Turbo your silly..
the 999 handles better? what do you mean by better?
with the right suspension set up any bike can out handle the other with the right rider..so shut the fuck up..I guess thats why the shitty handling Ten Kates 1000RR is only 2 points behind its first year in WSB anf there not even a factory team...

on a nother note..I waste you on my 600 on the street and on the track..
you know what? we wanna see some pics of your bike all done up..NOW!!!..

well i would rather have a bike with 175 hp any day than 140hp all you have to do is let off the gas alittle on the start but when your tucked 175 hp is the sh*t. :D
