Hey everyone, i've been pokn around the forum for a few days cuz i'm really interested in getting a 954/1000rr.

Anyways, i was just wondering a few things - is the 03 954 any different than an 02?
Theres a dealer who has new leftover 02's sitting around he's letting go for 7k

Or should i just spend the time to save up for a 1000rr because its just that much better. :D

The only differance in the 02 and 03 is the color scheme. If you invest in either I would recommend a steering damper. The 954 in a great bike which most people will never use to its full potential on the street, but if your the type of person who has to have the latest and the greatest then the 1000 is the next big thing. There was a recall on the 02 954, a bearing in the steering system or something, you might want to keep in mine and ask the dealer about.

I just sold my 02 954 for the 1000RR.

He's exactly right the 954 is an AWESOME bike, but the first thing you must buy is a damper!!! oh and a pipe of course. And you will never use it's full potential.

At the same time I LOVE the 1000RR to death, this thing is BADASS!!! and with the stability of the 1000RR it makes you feel like even though it has MORE power you can use it's full potential.

Both are awesome!!! $7k is sweet if its brand new NICE!!! Yeah steering head bearing recall, no biggy they probably already even did it.

Youll know if they did the recall by if there is a dot stamped at the vin#. Overall if you can pay cash then by all means get the 54 cause when you dont finance then you get way cheaper insurance even at full coverage. :wink:

spend $2000 more and get the 1000. weeeeeee

if $2000 is not a lot of money to you, you should get the 1000, I've had a 954 since Feb. 19, 2002 and its a great bike.

Ask 1000rr owners if its worth $2000 more. Just save up and get the 05 Gixxer 1000. weeeee

Definately worth the extra cash. And think actually it's 1,500 cause it comes with the damper. 8)
