Like the 954? Does it get uncomfortable at all due to the heat? Sometimes I feel like a piece of fried chicken when I get stuck in the city traffic. I was just curious if Honda improved that at all.

you mean my hot a** isn't just from being a woman?!?!?! it does get a bit uncomfortable, especially with the undertail, the things we do for fashion! I can't compare to an older model RR as my last bike was a yikes, Yamaha  . If it scores me any redemption points, the Honda is a far superior bike and I know from experience and not just stubborness :D

yeah olderr it does. my right boot gets hot as hell even going down the road, but it isn't something i am concerned with. the seat isn't too bad, but the engine temp rises pretty quick when at slow speeds/city traffic, but cools back down to 180 or so relatively quick. don't know about passenger comfort yet, my girl has yet to ride with me.

you thinking of a new purchase??? :?

yup it sure does get on. I feel it also on the right foot even when in motion. and Sometime (I guess due to drafting from the body) I feel the heat on my back when riding.

Nothing real bad though.

RIDE RED!!!!

I thought my bike was messed up at first but it is normal that the new bikes run hotter now. my friends bike runs hot too and he has a new 2004 r1 and his run almost the same as mine. Its just now there getting so much hp out of the new bikes now that its normal for them to run over the 200 mark. I put engine ICE in my bike and i could tell a difference now that i put it in my bike. :D

I dont know why Ive never owned a 954 but try engine ICE and make shore all of the old fluid is out of your bike before refilling it. :D

I heat wrapped the pipes up to the valve, to soon after learn your not 'spose to wrap Ti. Does anyone know how quickly the trapped heat will decomp the Ti pipes?

Comming from a ducati 748, the seat doesn't really get that hot at all, you wont even notice it in a couple of months time - and then wait for winter, forget heated handgrips, heated seats are the best.

I just want to say that this is a cool site and proud to be joining you all as being a new owner of a great bike. I got my cbr 1000rr last friday on what had to be one of the hottest and most humid days felt here in NJ at 90 degrees with 90% humidity and the 40 min. ride home was not that bad. There was some traffic at first and the engine temp got up to 225. And when I was moving at least 50mph it went down to 186. As for the seat getting hot, I didn't even notice it.
