I was wondering, do you guys "and gals" mount your own tires? If you do, do you worry about taking them to get them balanced?

Or does everybody just take them to a shop to have this done?

I have always just taken my wheels off the bike and took them to a shop and let them do it, but I know some guys that just mount there own and don't worry about the balance.

Get them balanced! Take a look at your wheels and see how much weight is on them. You sure wouldnt want to be ringin it out without the weights in place. If you only stunt the bike or cruise around town then its probably OK but getting them balanced is cheap piece of mind

I personally go to Discount Tire and use their machined to moun the tires and then I go to the MC dealer for balancing.....

I pay a shop. i take the wheels off and take them to him and throw the guy 20 bucks a wheel and he mnounts them and balances them for me.

thanks fella's, like I said I have always took my wheels off and let the shop do the work, but I am thinking about doing the mounting and then taking them in for a balance.

gimme a call if you need any help with breaking the beads or anything.

I use a 5lbs hammer and a pry bar..works ok,just a few little nics in the paint,but yeah im not about the bling bling :D
