I just moved up to a 954 from an F4 and love the power difference. I'm just curious if its worth changing the gearing or not. It comes up so easy in 1st and 2nd, but w/ stock gearing 1st feels too tall...cruise down the street at 40 in 1st gear. Maybe up 2 or 4 in the rear?? What are you guys running? I'm not about stunting all the time, just want to ride out a few good wheelies.

Changing the gearing will make wheelies jerky unless your real good with the throttle, stay with the stock set up, you will get use to it, remember you just got off a 600. Also regearing is no fun when doing any freeway riding. weeeee

I agree listen to wheelie, my 2nd gear wingers come down at around 118 mph unless I go into third. Pull 2nd or 3rd up at around 60 mph and ride that puppy out.

Thanks for all the info. I don't want to make any drastic change but it just seems like it could use up 2 on the rear. I bought the bike used and I'm not sure if it has the stock gearing. Its 43 on the rear but I haven't looked at the front yet.

Regearing doesnt make you do better wheelies, the longer the gearing the longer the wheelies. But its your bike, if you like running around 6 or 7 grand at 60mph, do it. weeeee
