have a K&N oil filter(KN-303), as I read in the K&N page this oil filter is for the 900RR not for the 954, the correct model is KN-204.but the only difference is the Height

My question is can I put the KN-303 in the 954???

other that the height, there shouldn't be a problem. the best thing you can do is pull your plastics and hold the NEW filter up to the old to check what kind of clearance you have with the header. i ran into a problem with my Hindle.....the filter was just barely touching the header, so i went with the stock filter. i have never had a problem running stock filters.

IMO K&N oil filters suck ass..... I had one and the seal blew out on it and it was dumping oil everywhere.... I exchanged it to have the new one do it too...... Stick with stock.....
