Hey i've got a 02 red/black 54 and i had the air duct covers and my huger painted to match the bike but they turned out a lil orange. The painter said that was as close as he could get it with dupont. He is a good painter and i've seen alot of his work and he has done some work for a few of the local dealers doing custom work so not to sure. Has anyone else had this problem or know wher i can find the original paint for it. I tried getting it from some company in cali that said they had a true match but it looked even worse. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure how much help this will be but one of the local paint shops here uses a colormatching device. They put it on your surface and then custom mix the color. Maybe somebody near you can do the same.

Cowboy the painter in my shop painted the hugger with RM paint, he ran the paint code on the bike, and its perfect. you cannot tell that tha panel was done with aftermarket paint. i ahve the exact same bike as you have.good luck,,, ROGER
