: How much is she worth?
JoeRocket954 02-04-2004, 09:48 AM Ok...question for all of you. I'm in Ohio and I'm seriously considering putting the 954 up for sale. It's a 2003 Blk/Ti. I've added the dark smoke Fabrii double bubble windscreen, C/F frame sliders, a fender eliminator kit, short stalk rear turn signals, and a Jardine slip-on. I bought this bike when I was living in California last year, so it is a CA bike. It has 2000 miles on it with no scratches or anything. What do you guys think would be a decent price to start asking for it? Or I could just let Stunna know where it is and then explain to my insurance company how it just got stolen!
GeNeRaL 02-04-2004, 09:54 AM I'd go for 7750 obo. There are lingering 2k3 954 leftovers out there for just over 8. Unfortunately when you buy a new bike, it depreciates alot, so selling it so quickly is ften far from beneficial. Even breaking even is often not likely.
Da1000RRStuna 02-04-2004, 12:55 PM I got 7g's for mine bone stock..I got lucky..
I thinking about getting the 1000RR..
FLIP954RR 02-04-2004, 02:32 PM put it in Ebay and see what happens!!
Anonymous 02-04-2004, 05:48 PM I would ask around 7,500 you may get it and you may not.
you could get lucky and even get more.
Anonymous 02-04-2004, 07:05 PM 16 2K3 954's left in just one shop in Denver I think you would be lucky to get $7,000 right now. I dont know anyone that will pay you extra for the upgrades you have mentioned.
FastFreddieRR 02-05-2004, 08:08 PM Ask 7700 there is an ass for every seat! you'll sell it. why are you sellin it? sounds mint.
JoeRocket954 02-09-2004, 11:17 AM Believe me, it's not that I want to sell it, but with the new kid, the new house, and going back to school, it's what i have to do. I figure that in a couple of years, they'll have all the kinks worked out of the 1000 and I can get back into it. You're right, it's in mint condition. I just need the extra money right now.
FastFreddieRR 02-09-2004, 08:02 PM I understand, got 2 kids myself, the money is nice, but sell it in last resort. When my first kid was born my wife was breakin' my balls to sell my porsche, it was paid for and all I was doing is payin ins. on it, I held out and things just worked out and I kept it  .and I'm glad I did, cause I can never afford to buy another one. Just make sure!!
JoeRocket954 02-10-2004, 07:34 AM I thought about that too, but then I thought that if I keep it and decide that I want the 1000 next year, she'll raise hell for sure, but if I sell the 954 now and get all straightened out, then I have an excuse for buying the 1000! I know....talking about making excuses to tell the wife....I'm sounding like orange head.
FastFreddieRR 02-10-2004, 08:28 AM Your right!!!! that's the last thing you want to do. Regardless, you know your wife best, you know what you gotta do. Good luck!
Meddiepie954RR 02-11-2004, 01:18 AM Yeah dude, I'd say put it on e-bay with a reserve price of about $7,500 and if the price doesn't get met...you'll have a good idea of what people will be willing to pay for it.
Anonymous 02-11-2004, 10:28 AM Sell the microwave and the fridge, dont sell your 54......
RR95403 02-25-2004, 02:43 AM Already, are frickin nuts, cat you got the finest skirt in town and you want to trade up already. Look around, the only thing faster is a hollowpoint under the chin. Just chill and wait for 05, let'em work out the bugs. If you want hand it over, I'll be perfectly happy with two. 6500 and she moves right away then you can buy one of those music brands or the brand that makes S.U.V.'s that flip over, get a hold of yourself, don't sell us out just yet.If it's going too slow for you get into 6th gear and jump off that should clear your head. :D
Truck 02-27-2004, 10:41 PM RR I have to agree with you, the magazines hipe em up to much. They get kick backs to sell motorcycles so they always write real good reviews for the highest bid. Screw em I like my 54 and when I get used to her she will be a lot faster in the twisties :!: 8)
Anonymous 02-28-2004, 12:01 AM man fuck that, dont sell it ride it, fuckin bullshit, never sell unless you are upgrading, dont give up, how dare you buncha bitches encourage him to fag out

JoeRocket954 03-01-2004, 09:00 AM I just got her back out of hibernation yesterday. Cleaned her all up and did all the preventive maintenance shit too. I'm seriously thinking that if I could get $7000, I'd let it go. What do you think? Any chance of it? I'll get some pics and post em up in a day or 2.
JoeRocket954 03-03-2004, 07:13 AM Well, I posted my baby on ebay last night. I guess we'll see how it goes!

JoeRocket954 03-04-2004, 07:17 AM I'm just wanting to get what I owe the bank out of it. Like I said, I love her to death,b ut I really need an SUV right now. The wife is pretty upset about letting her go too, but we agreed that come 2005, you can mark me down for a 1000!
Anonymous 03-04-2004, 08:22 AM Thats too nice of a bike for 7 grand you need to be asking 8500. 00 for her and you really need to wait until spring has sprung to list her. Thast when youll get top dollar :twocents:
Youcan buy them new in the crate for that much....
JoeRocket954 03-05-2004, 07:12 AM Well, I gotta say that I was quite suprised when I got an e-mail from a guy who seemed really intrested in the bike yesterday. When I gave him a call, he asked a few questions about the bike and told me that he had already been to the bank and gotten pre-approved to buy it. He bought it at the buy it now price of $8000. When I posted it, I figured I would just see how high the bids got. I never dreamed she would go for $8000. After I agreed to sell it to this guy, another guy called me and offered $7000 and said he would bring cash and pick it up today. This was a lot easier to sell than I thought!! Those 1000's are looking awful good to me right now!!!!
Oh yeah....he said that he has a Duc now, but the Duc just didn't compare to the 954. That should get a response or two from old Turbo. :nana:
Truck 03-05-2004, 12:05 PM You go boy  the 1000 is in the bag
cbrjimmy1KRR 03-05-2004, 12:12 PM well....you know the saying....there's a sucker born every minute. not to say that's not a nice bike, because IT IS. don't get me wrong, but that's how it goes when somebody is hard up for a ride NOW...and fails to shop around.........i know, i've been that guy :D
congrats JOE!!!!! i'm glad you came out ahead :)
JoeRocket954 03-05-2004, 12:26 PM Thanks!! I was sort of wondering if this guy was bluffing or not, but I just got the paperwork faxed to me by the bank stating that the check has been sent to pay her off!! Plus a few hundred in my pockets!!
I better hurry and get the 1000 or you guys won't let me post anymore. Especially with that hard ass Stunna being a mod and all....he'll ban me for sure!! Ha Ha
Truck 03-05-2004, 01:46 PM Yea I know I got my 54 for 5,800 only 1800miles on it, but thats me im tired of paying too much for everything. I bought my house 20,000 less than appraisel so im definetly a deal hound. 8)
