well here it is winter and I have a new to me Kawasaki KLR650 and is time for me to strip it to the bone, have all that can be powder-coated, and do what it will need for a proper life while in my possession....:lmao:

for starters here's the bike ready for tear-down..................

and it's knobbied nipples...

so if you don't see of me here and there it's because I'm workin on it or just plain fucking off.  :P

looks brand new because of me... just wait a sec... I now have a couple more pics at the crossroads I've encountered.  here we have a half naked beast..............

and I'm walkin around stooping at it, twisting around it, and sitting down by it.....

all I can think of is ; do my upgrades to the motor, body supports, front suspension, and misc and go trailer that bitch down to TX and do some RIDIN! get a beat year into it and find it's weaknesses, then design support and powder it after that.......

dirty... heh. I cleaned it a lil bit and it was filthy from the dealer with dry rotted cupped tires that had less than half of the rquired pressure in them while the air filter was almost black as was the oil with it's jury rigged on plastics bent levers and broken hand guards all of which I found out after it was too late. no matter, this bike is growing on me and I can peg grind it with little effort. FUN . and fun fun fun :D I had slid in turns on my rr that this thing rails to. it's fun.
and I can go off road :D

here's the power plant

Thta's one funny ass work shop if you ask me, heheheh

My ghetto ass paint job with Krylon Fusion plastic paint...
It worked ok on metal but even after I scuffed the plastic it still pulled into lepard spots ... so it has some texture... No matter though, it's my street legal dirt bike and it's bound to get some abrasions. At least more My style now

http://images.snapfish.com/339%3A64%3A%3B23232%7Ffp54%3Dot%3E232%3A %3D327%3D%3A29%3DXROQDF%3E23234%3A9535%3 B42ot1lsi

I installed an engine up grade which it needed since the original part was broken and I found the other peices on the other side of the motor,,, major work but it all went well. )

and I also put on some hand warmers that installed under the grips ( I ride from no salty roads till salty roads and that means even if it's below freezing. (looks like I'm going snowmobiling somethimes the way I'm duked up.)
I replaced the fork seals and changed the oil to a thicker viscosity for slower damping.

when I get the exhaust on I will take a shot of that side of the bike.

fun time with this little project....... :)

I have been on some of the roads in the Hill Country in TX and they are as good or better than the deals gap. (at times, many times)

I can't wait to have my side lugs on the knobbies worn more than the others... HAHAHA
