: ANYONE THINK i can find a better deal than this?
Anonymous 02-12-2004, 05:36 PM 1420$ for a new sato full titanium ex, pc3r and dan kyle map from dan the man himself
anyone know a better deal, or if its anyone here has access to a dk sato pc3r map?
Anonymous 02-12-2004, 10:25 PM I dont know about the parts price but you should make sure that map is done at close to the same altitude as where you will be using it....
Anonymous 02-12-2004, 10:42 PM what altitude is dan kyle?
im dc altitude, fix me!
Anonymous 02-13-2004, 05:19 PM i called the jigga at dan kyle 2 minutes ago, he said fuel injection compensates for the difference from dc to where they are at, they must be under 100, and im around 400
Wheelie 02-13-2004, 06:02 PM If the fuel injection compensates itself, why buy a power commander? weeeeeeeee
Anonymous 02-13-2004, 07:55 PM Good question......
PC3's are a fukin waste of money and I cant beleive I was suckered into one....
Anonymous 02-13-2004, 08:14 PM alotta people show much smoother curves with new exhausts when mapping with them, but he said the difference in altitude is will not make a difference, only a few hundred feet, the difference in f/a mix with a new exhuast could and probably does fluctuate alot moreas compared to the small difference in altitude between here and thier, if hes not lying, this is all grey area to me

I disagree, it depends on who made your map. If you use the map that DynoJet supplied then you will be close, but still not getting all that you can from your bike. When I got mine I did my homework and found the best guy I could. Very professional, highly recommended, and he allowed me to hang out with him while he installed and tested everything. Explaining exactly what he was doing and why. The guy who did mine used the map for the Hindle which got it to about 133 hp. and then adjusted a few things to get it right. I only gained a few hp (from 131.4 to 137.8 ) because I had a slipon, but what I was working at was a smoother throttle response and knowing that I'm not running the bike too rich or too lean which could fuck something up over time. Altitude will make a difference, but so will the air temp., humidity, and type of fuel that you use. Thats why it's so important to find someone who knowns what their doing when you get it installed.
Anonymous 02-15-2004, 09:39 AM Here is why I think its a waste.
1. I run a half system
2. The map costs as much as the PC3
3. My local tuning centers cant be trusted and are useing non certified techs
4. Most people I know adjust there own shit without a dyno and risk running lean in the process.
5. All these people on here that need to go faster are dumb simply because nobody on this board is riding to the bikes stock limits....
This to me all equals a waste of money.........
gntbldr 02-15-2004, 09:52 AM you hit it on the head with all the negatives I could think of on owning one 2k2...
yet if I got a 954 again I would do it all over again with the full akra pc and custom map.
I liked what the bike was like stock but with the whole 9 yards it was Way more useable but I am a horse of a different color, I have a lot of odd ball terrain here that requires major feathering of the throttle to be riden hard and safe without any tiny little lags or surges. Yeah I know I wouldn't get 100% out of my bike but is 97% close enough? jfa but not really......
Then on another note I know other people that have wasted their time and $ because they wanted a pc to say they had it and then they wouldn't go the extra step to get the damned thing to actually do some work for them and the only way to make a pc Really work for you is with a custom map.
hell even the japanese silk worms were jealous on how smooth my bike was after the tuner for road-america's superbike days tuned my bike. And my mileage went back up to about 135 a tank instead of 98 without the map....
enough of my babble now though... time to go and check the other forums and then get my lazy but to work on my chores
Butter Bean 02-15-2004, 10:43 AM I didn't take into account the nuckle heads who gotta have it so they can say they got it. In your case you can't get it done right, so doing it would be a waste. I wanted to make sure that everything was adjusted correct on my bike to avoid damage, and for that (when done right) it worked. One day I will want to switch to a full system and ramair and when I do, adjustments can be made to keep everything on the bike happy.

from what I've learned is that the 954 is only able to minorly adjust a/f due to it's non O2 sensor feedback system. Very minorly... That's why stuna's 600rr ran a little better after a little while , while not running a pc and with the full akra on it.
