So how many of you have put some cash down one of the new bikes?

I'm gonna wait for some more reviews then make a decision. Its gonna have to be damn good for me to give up my 954.

if I could I would. The moment I sat on it the balance of the whole mass was one with me and what I expect out of a machine like that. My 954 was great. It ,to me, was a damned nice machine.
but just for the ergos and how the 1krr felt when I took it off of the stand and whapped it from thigh to thigh I was in love with it and if I still had my 954 It would be on the for sale list or trade in list and I would've lost big either way from all that I had done to it just to come close to the power output that the new 1krr will definately deliver. Stock.
and the way it felt to me would even be enough for a trade in even if the power would be the same( which it just can't be).

You must understand though that when I'm on a machine I do what I can to squeeze all I can out of it even if I'm just toolin around. The 1krr would make it easier to do just that and the down hill no-handed switch-backs would be out of this world!

Gonna keep my 54 fer a while, new bikes are changing so quick in 2 years the 1000rr will be obsolete? Im buying a new bike when they can go 200mph stock. That may be next year the way things are going? weeeeeee

I wouldnt put a penny down because there is going to be a high demand for them and you wont be able to get a good deal, not to mention it will be 2005 before they release it anyway.

They will be out way before 05 in fact they are going to start to ship them to the dealers in April. My money is down on the black one and my dealer confirmed the shipping date with honda Monday and told me it will be here in April.

i think 2k2 was just being sarcastic. seems like honda is releasing them later and later. tomorrow will be my 2 year anniversary with the 54....happy VD to me :lol: my point is, i got her a week after they were released......that would mean that the then NEW 954 was released early february.....now it's gonna be april for the 1K....doesn't seem like good business to me. :roll:

just put an ohlins steering damper on the 54 . ain't no way i'm gonna buy a newly designed bike, gonna wait to hear what the riders all have to say first

I think that ill wait until one of my bros buys one then ill ride with him and see if there is enough difference worth shucking out an extra 4 grand. I personally think that there isnt enough differince to spend the cash but we will see. I ride with gsxr1000s,, r1s, rc51 and r6s and there doesnt seem to be enough difference to warrent the money. The reviews talks like its just a souped up 954s. It seems to me that the magazines always hipe up the reveiws for the next years models and I think they get kikbacks for the beefing up the status of the overall bike. Afterall they want to sell the next years models to have something to write about and the bike companys loves for the exposure of there new product. :twocents:

I agree with you regarding the Magazine articles. If you follow the reviews from press release until the bike gets replaced with a new model, you will see major inconsistencies in the reports. I think they give you an overall idea about the bike, but they contradict themselfs all the time.

Its all about the sales and the magazines are out to sell motorcycles for the manufacturers. They always overdo the smallest things just for a sell. Ill bet theyll not be one run off and leave me thats for sure. 8)
