BLADE RUNNERR 954

hey guys , i thought i might pass this along to ya. recently i installed a set of goodridge brake lines on my 954,,and my wife's zx7r. i noticed brake fluid slowly weeping from the banjo bolt areas, even though the things were torqued up to 12ftlbs. the flaw was in the compression washers, they were not seating properly due to their size . i used factory compression washers from the 954 , on both bikes,,and all the leaks stopped. i made the dealership pay fer the fokkin things, you think they would have run into this prob before :pissedoff:

I am about to go with the Goodridge SS brake lines.... I have been running the Kevlar lines but that .020 guage hose on the SS lines will be really nice.

hey there 2K2. when ya get yer goodridge brake lines ask for another set of crush washers , like the ones you get from the honda dealer . it will save you a lot of grief. when i installed my lines.. i used the same mounting system as the factory . i took a razor blade,, and carefully sliced them from the factory hoses. that way your new lines won't be dangling all over the place. bleeding the brakes might be a pain in the ass , i had to bleed both the master cylinder and the calipers . also be aware of any brake fluid dripping on your bike,,i used old t shirts in the area of the connections. :)

I just installed braided lines on my 54. I'd recommend doing it yourself, it's not that bad. It did take longer to bleed the front brakes than I thought it would. Just be sure to keep the master cylinder full so as not to allow air into the system. Good luck.

No worries on the bleeding... I replace my brake fluid every time I change the oil anyway...
