Was cleaning my rear wheel, and noticed some play in the lower shock linkage? sTuna, is that normal? my bike has 2900 miles on it, and its a Honda! weeeee

if it just moves side to side you need to tighten the nut all the way down ( 33ft lbs. torque). If the aluminum shock linkage moves up and down, the bearings and/or sleave inside is worn from not being greased if anything.

yea, it moves up and down, just slightly, but I can feel it move with my hand when I lean the bike over on the side stand. weee

It only has 2900 miles on it, no stoppies, just hundreds of wheelies. weeeee

I should have also stated that if the bolt is loose the harsh actions of the suspension will cause the arm plates( the two triangle pieces) to become slotted in the bolt holes. You could pull the nut off the other side to check this. dont attempt to knock the bolt out without supporting the bike by the subframe.

Bearings are greasy, wee

Bushings are tight in the bearings, the bolts have a very small amount of slack in all 3 bushings, weee

And the bolts have a little play in the brackets, its not bad but I didnt think it should have any play in it? Wheres that big Goon sTuna when you need him!. weeeeee

was the bolt loose?
