: Four Minute Canyon Ride Video
sfarson 12-13-2004, 11:17 PM The exhaust message thread asked about the Laser exhaust note sound. This isn't a great rendition of it, but here it is as part of a recent canyon recording. I threw a tune on top of the recording for I'm still working on elminating wind noise from the audio :(. So, have to kinda hear the exhaust through the tune.
Perhaps the better appeal is just enjoying the spirited but sane tour of Bear Creek Canyon... especially with winter hanging around. If you have a big pipe to the internet, here's the four minutes from Morrison to Idledale (#2 on map)..

CrashTestDummie 12-14-2004, 12:12 AM Sweet video man. It looked like a great day for a ride. That would definately be a fun road with the turns back and forth. that sucks how that damn suv was in your way by the end of the video. Talk about ruining a good ride. Those lasers sound pretty good on the 1000. i thought they would be louder. Maybe i'm just used to my D&D's.
gntbldr 12-14-2004, 12:13 AM the exhaust sound seems nice. sorta tame...
I liked the vid. very much. dang that was some beautiful views. and the song was nice too. the part right when it said about tears I was actually choking up right then because it felt like (if that was me there) it was a trip of a lifetime or something and the music helped share that it might have been...
what group was that?
oh yeah, you cracked me up with the gloves comment :lmao: hahaha

It was a good day for a ride. The Lasers are louder than the video makes them appear to be. After getting underway I shut down most of the audio from the video for the wind noise interference. Will get this fixed by next summer!
Flightmedic954 12-14-2004, 01:34 AM nice
haven't heard Jars of Clay in a while,
thats what its all about, I tend to get worked up riding, usually have
Gripping the wheel, his knuckles
went white with desire! The wheels
of his Mustang exploding on the
highway like a slug from a .45.
True death: 400 horsepower of
maximum performance piercing the
night... This is black sunshine
If I had the beauty you have to look @ riding maybe,
when I fly I can tap into a more peaceful place

gntbldr... Glad it was a nice ride for you. FlightMedic notes correctly it is artist Jars of Clay. The track is "Fade to Grey". Pretty good album. Here's another curvy road vid (albeit a different bike) with another Jars of Clay song from the same album. If anyone thought the RR interruption at the end was something, I'm really interrupted on this backroad tour at the end...

By-Tor 12-14-2004, 09:26 AM Thanks for the sweet videos 8)
Interesting choice of music. Been a long time since I heard any Jars of Clay. That second video is truely hypnotic. That is up until that Durango pops out into the road
Truck 12-14-2004, 09:31 AM Both very good vids. I like to pace ride like that," On my calmer days" :D
FLIP954RR 12-14-2004, 09:49 AM Simply beautiful! 8)

yeah, medic, Zombie finds it's way in random on my mp3 player from time to time but what really made me wacked is when Slayer's Threshold would come on on random when I hit the wicked parts of my runs... just sorta synchronicity and blam. it's argh time...lol
CrashTestDummie 12-14-2004, 09:57 PM Hey flight great pics. afarason, keep the vid's coming.
sfarson 12-15-2004, 12:37 AM Well, I'm a fairly new RR rider, so I only have the RR vid posted above... but more in '05! Have from other rides . I'll toss in one more. It's a different one but may appeal to some. With all the Rocky Mountain dirt forest roads nearby, a bike for these kinds of roads is very nice/appropriate. Here's a ride above timberline, over Boreas Pass. Jaw dropping scenery. The Pass road is built on the old narrow gauge train bed. It goes from Como to the ski resort town of Breckenridge. Piano accompanies.

Flightmedic954 12-15-2004, 02:27 AM I am trying to find a pic of me on that same pass. Except I didnt make it all the way
due to the snow. That old train pass is awesome, isnt it?
I love summit county. I wont make it up there this winter.
awsome community.
I love going mid June, seeing the snow melt & flood everything.
horse pack, camp, maybe snowboard A-basin, mountain bike keystone.
then watch the fireworks over lake Dillon, from the creek of Breckenridge.
sfarson 12-16-2004, 02:02 AM FlightMedic,
Do you live here in Colorado and if so, where?
Flightmedic954 12-17-2004, 04:30 PM No I live in Okie-homa now. I did some ski-patrol there about 10yrs ago.
I am kinda hoping that I am put on stand-by for med-school & delayed a year
so I can ski-patrol, for one last season
gntbldr 12-17-2004, 05:02 PM truely some nice stuff.
you been able to ride at all lately?
sfarson 12-18-2004, 12:48 AM No I live in Okie-homa now. I did some ski-patrol there about 10yrs ago.

Well, there are parts of Oklahoma I love on two wheels. I routinely fly to Tulsa then take various routes east to Fayetteville, AR on business. There are some mighty fine and empty roads in east OK. This year I trailered my sport tourer to Locust Grove, using it as base. Handled some business then toured the area for three days. Fantastic, and many do not know how nice eastern OK is (essentially the western side of the Ozarks).
Know where this place is? It was so empty on a Wednesday I could park like this, wait for the sun to come from behind a cloud, then take a pic... while no vehicles passed...

Was able to get out most of last week, but a cold 4" 48 hours ago has put a damper on riding lately. Hope to get out tomorrow or the day following. The image below was from ten days ago. Little nippy on nearby 10,000ft Kenosha Pass. Pardon the hefty image and non RR thing. Will try to get the RR to the same spot soon.

Two4One 12-23-2004, 06:20 PM Wow that looked like a blast! Good weather is a loooong way off for me but videos like that help me get through it. Thanks!
Butter Bean 12-23-2004, 09:27 PM Both vids are awsome. Camera quality in the first vid was top quality.
I think the sun in the second caused reflections on the windscreen but it was still a good vid. I'm looking farward to next years vid collection.
