Unofficial lap times from the final day at Phillip Island:

Max Biaggi (Honda): 1:30.21 (62 laps)
Colin Edwards (Honda): 1:30.45 (31 laps)
Sete Gibernau (Honda) : 1:30.60 (41 laps)
Nicky Hayden (Honda): 1:30.68 (83 laps)
Valentino Rossi (Yamaha): 1:30.80 (78 laps)
Alex Barros (Honda): 1:30.88 (74 laps)
Loris Capirossi (Ducati): 1:30.97 (56 laps)
Troy Bayliss (Ducati): 1:31.64 (68 laps)
Carlos Checa (Yamaha): 1:31.96 (92 laps)
Marco Melandri (Yamaha): 1:32.00 (80 laps)
Shane Byrne (Aprilia): 1:32.28 (67 laps)

are those the best times out of all the laps?


if that's the case why is it Gibernau and Edwards acheived their nice numbers with less laps?

no just the best times from the last day of testing..
Nicky had the fatest lap the day before I think 1:30.0 if I remember right

Nicky had the fastest lap of all the testing at Sepang. These times are from Phillip Island.

While the times are good for bragging rights and armchair racing, don;t forget that these guys are trying out all sorts of setup options to find out what is working and what is not working for them, so somone can have one slow day and be multiple seconds faster the next, or vice versa. This season is gonna OWN.

Exactly right Gen. And, Rossi's only been on his new bike for about 5 minutes. I think Rossi's gonna kick ass. I think Nicky might need another year or two. Hopefully, he'll prove me wrong!!!
