So I predict that since the Gixxer makes 152rwhp at 10,200, the R1 will still get smoked down the straights.

The Kawasaki looks to be the weight to horsepower king. But it better make it's power lower in the rev range. (kind of like the Honda with it's 11,500rpm redline)

The Honda is rumored to have 145-150rwhp.

The Kawasaki is rumored to have 158-162rwhp.

same cc's as last years R1 130hp.. 20hp more is alot..the gixxer 1000 152hp? I seen 1000 full pipes and PC's making 150hp..not all gixxers put out the same hp they vary anywhere between 1hp-8hp maybe even more!! Yamahas the same way..
but these bikes aint on the show room floors yet so I think the best thing to do is wait it out untill there on the street..

You're right, but the reason why I said I think the R1 will get smoked is because the Gixxer makes it's peak horsepower way earlier in the rev range. 10,200 as opposed to the R1's 12,000. The Honda will make it's peak HP even lower than the Gixxer probably. We'll have to wait and see.

I'm still trying to find some good Ducati forums. There are a couple out there as well as some yahoo groups, but nobody is riding the 999 like that. So most of the forums are posting shit about Ducati 900ss and monsters. It really sucks.

The 04 Gix is on the ground here in Denver and according to Vicery Motorsports there are 16 R1's in transit right now..

I called my Honda dealer today for the TRX450R quad he said early February :x
I dont think im even gonna bother,spring will be around the corner and ill be riding my bike..so buying that quad will be a waste of $..
if Honda had everything on the floor now the dealers would be busy selling them..
