Guys I need to buy tires, based on reviews I am going to go with the pirelli diablo's.

I think the corsas would be cool- but I will probably only make it to the track once so I would be better off with street tires..

Let me know your thoughts and if you know of any cheap places to grab some fresh rubber.

ayers is good, all are pretty much the same unless you buy used off the bay,ive bought tires off the bay that are fine, alotta times you can buy rims and tires off a wreck that are fine for the same price, and then you dont have to pay for mount and balance

I got Pilot Powers from them pretty cheap.

I used take off race rubber on the street last summer. The grip is great when it is warm out, but if you ride in the cold at all don't do it. I lit the rear up a bunch when I didn't want to because it was cool - like 60 degrees. You don't get much mileage either...[/url]

Believe it or not, my local Honda dealership offers deals that pretty much match or beat most online deals. When you buy tires from them, and they will order you pretty much anything you want, they offer free mounting and balancing if you bring them the wheels off of the bike.

You might find a great deal online but then you have to add shipping and mounting. I found that after all of the additional expenses, I was better off buying from my dealer.

i know a few people in my local shop....they hook me up with mount and balance, but the dealer wants list price for the tire. for example they wanted $213 or so for a 190 bto14 plus mount and balance. :eek: i don't think so. from Chaparral they want $116.37 plus $9 shipping and after $19 mount and balance....not bad in my opinion. i think i'll keep ordering online :wink:

Ron Ayers for street tires. Hands down. Cheap, and fast delivery.

General got a set of Diablo's for his 954 awhile back. I got the privledge of riding it a couple times. Great tires, stick like glue.

Pirelli Diablo's, good tires. My bike came with them. Since I used them up, I know have Michelin Power Sports. Good tire, Good price. :D

I like the Diablos. They are also a fantastic rain tire. They are quieter than the M1's and quite sticky. I don't know what the weather's like where you live, but you might hold off on the Corsas until the summer when it's hot. They will work better.

Older is telling the truth. I just came off diablo corsas. I will say that they suck in the wet. Im on Bridgston 002 race right now and that is the tire. Maybe not in the rain but they stick like theres no tommorow :wink:

I would highly recommend the Diablo Corsas for track days and extrememly fast street riding. But NOT everyday riding. The regular Diablos are better in the rain.

Anytime we get stuck we pulll over, pull out a deck of cards and I make some cash. Usually under a bridge overpass or in a drive thru teller.
When the roads are wet we don't go blasting through them...

I live in NJ- and like to ride in nice weather- anything 60+

You guys with the corsas- did you ahve any problems heating them up?

I know on the stock pilot sports I had gumballs on the edges when I did a few clover leafs. It felt like they actually got greasy after 10 minutes of getting on them.
But that doesn't happen all the time.

I do use the rear brake- actually most of the time I am stopping unless it's for a stoppie.
I am the only one in my group that even touches it...I brake in the turns too...I think it is a good skill to have for the "in case" factor...

The tires had about 20-25 1/4 mile track runs on them. As we all know with a stock height 954 you can't come out of the hoel too fast or she will just loop.

I'm a wacked out freak like that because I just love how it feels riding on a flim of water.
best tires I've run in the rain so far are some dunlops . didn't care for the pilots in the wet or the bridgestone becuse they gripped too well.. yeah too well... I like to feel the hydroplane and it keeps me slow and steady.

I seem to get the rain the biggest part of the time that I ride. I always pack rain gear :wink:
