i put my fuel pump in, torqued the bolts to 9ft/lbs and to the sequence it shows in the manual....
put a little gas in it and checked to see if it was leaking, yea it leaked a little bit...looks like the seal is tucked in good to.
should i torque them tighter? what do u recommend?
thanks

me personally, I would apply some fuel resistant rtv and order a new gasket for if and when I had to take off the fuel pump again.
the right way might be to take it apart and clean the surfaces again. maybe even use some emery cloth to smooth out the surfaces... and then use a new gasket and give 'er another go!.

I just had that same problem. I had put all my track parts back on after painting them satin black ( it looks sweet, very stealthy.) When I put fuel in the tank it started pissing bad. So I took it back off and the brillo pad crap thats in there(whats it for?) had gotten in between the seal and the tank. I tucked it all up in real good and bolted it in real good. No problems. I would check that. Even one strand of that will keep it from get a correct seal. Good luck. :)

looks like the metal was bent in a little bit, so the fuel was leaking...bent it out now it seals great and got my bike running with the new tank and tail painted :)
