: speedo/tach/clock cluster doesnt work
Flightmedic954 03-11-2005, 07:12 AM Out tearing ass last night, wheeling along, put it down kinda hard to jump some RR tracks. It didnt seem that hard of landing, but...
Then noticed the speedo/tach/clock wasnt working (or the horn).
Bike running fine, headlights, turn sig all working, the blue high-beam indicator & turn sig. indicators all working,
just no tach or any LED stuff.
I reset the bike (battery off for 10+min), checked connections, fuses, connection to the cluster.
I stopped short of pulling off the cluster & opening it up.
Any ideas? I am going to go sleep a couple hrs...
Wheelie 03-11-2005, 10:30 AM Sound like a wiring connection problem in the cluster? weee
Wheelie 03-11-2005, 10:34 AM Check all of the wires in the plug to the cluster for power, you'll need a schematic to check the right one's. weeee
gntbldr 03-11-2005, 11:05 AM I just sent the Lights and meters, wiring diagrams, and trouble shooting pdf pages to the email address you have listed medic. hope it helps.
Flightmedic954 03-11-2005, 03:04 PM Yea, I figured it had to be simple, fuse B10A was out, that PDF did it.
the label on the box (in the bike) is wrong, it has the horn on C10A, but its on B...
so running through the PDF, fuse B listed everything that was out & it was out.
If course I have already taken off the upper & ran all the wires...
but I found a few loose bolts that was causing some vibration in the upper
so what Im not spose to jump the bike or I will blow fuses?
anyone else experience this?
It didnt seem too hard of a landing, but I guess I had some adrenaline going.
Thanks for the help, I have the bike PDF on CD, but its such a pain in the ass to go through, I need to get the book.
By-Tor 03-11-2005, 03:19 PM I used to jump my 54' plenty and never had a problem. You must jump even harder than I did
Cool it was a cheap and easy fix. Nothing worse than having to trace electrical gremlins.
Anonymous 03-11-2005, 03:27 PM the 1krr is a heavier bike, might make some sort of difference, and obviously shaped so that part gets some vibration or something, maybe just a shoddy fuse, launch it again and tell us what happens

same here.
used to catch Mega air with the 9er all the time. and at warp speeds too. nothing like 2 or so second hang time at 150 or so.
only had a couple hard landings with the slower ones like over RR tracks...
glad that file helped. ;)
vonzipperjr 04-23-2005, 05:27 PM Blown fuse opon instalation of front turnsignals,no led/tach/brakelight....Where the h e double hockey sticks is the fuse box????
Polished 954 08-12-2005, 06:24 PM same problem as vonzipper except, this happened when I "fixed" my aftermarket signals. Any idea on which fuse i need to get (954)?
Thanks
Polished 954 08-12-2005, 06:27 PM 10A - Guess I should have actually looked in the ownersmanual before posting. Sorry.
Anyway, vonzipper- i think the fuse box is right next to the battery under the seat. I could be wrong because i never had to replace a fuse on a bike.
Polished 954 08-12-2005, 07:59 PM Me.....again.....
Anyway, this damn fuse keeps blowing, so there has to be a short somewhere.
I was messing around with the turn signals and somehow I keep blowing the fuse that is for the spedo/tach/taillight. Not sure what happened. The signals work fine. :?
Any ideas?
