on the first pic what is that aluminum box were the battery box used to be, or is it still a battery box?
and why aluminum?
I didn't know if they left all the starters on these bikes or not, but I'm guessing this still has one.

From what I understand froma local race team they have been leaving the starter becasue they are being built really light these days.

yeah they leave the starters in..if they take a fall they need to start the bike up to get back in the race.. :wink:

I think becuase in GP they have the corner workers that help the racers push the bikes..but now that the GP's are 4 strocks I think they leave them in..I dont remember seeing anyone gettin a push start in 2003 :? ?
also 4 strocks might be harder to push start after a whipe out.
