: NYCs1000 rode the Jap Killer today
His words were:
"Man, this thing has sooooo much torque."
"I friggin love this thing."
"For the Track, I would take this, even over my 1000."
"It's set up perfect. Don't do anything else to this bike but your suspension."
"These brakes are awesome"
He said that the very top end is 04/05 Gixxer 750 territory (Which is still pretty fast) but in the lower end and midrange, It'll beat just about anything out there.
Off of the corners, the bike will pull on just about anything. Even the new 1000's will need lots of room to reel the duc back in, only then to be beat on the brakes into the turn.
I'll let NYCs1000 tell the rest. 8)
He also went on about how comfortable the bike is to ride and how low to the ground it feels.
Now he's dying to do that run real soon to see how close the bikes are on the very top end.
LOL
Now that I have NYCs1000 seal of approval, I'm on my way. BRING ON THE TRACKDAYS!!!!!!!!
8)
Oh and for wheelie..............................
NYCs rode a nice block long wheelie in your honor. And since I installed an oil breather valve, the bike didn't puke oil all over the place. 8)
NavyMac 04-10-2005, 06:12 PM Is this why you have so many posts?
By-Tor 04-10-2005, 06:15 PM Turbo, you guys should have met up with me and my guys at Bear Mtn.
Glad to hear the bike is running well and not over heating.
This just happened over an hour ago. I was doing anniversary stuff all day.
NYCs1000 also said that if Ducati would make their bike like mine to begin with, that he'd buy one in a heartbeat.
8)
Double R 04-10-2005, 07:20 PM Is this why you have so many posts?
LMAO
Double R 04-10-2005, 07:20 PM oh yeah i for got to say LOL
Nycs 1000 04-10-2005, 09:04 PM Yeah man this thing rocks  .. exactly what nate said i said too the T
all it needs is suspension.. not to say its bad... but for me if it had it would be that much better its a lil hard for me im only 155.
hey if it was mine i would smoke anyone on this bike. its that good
BUT its also a good 27-30,00 machine. Its still not a GIXXER though
i would not spend that kind of $$. i could build 2 sick race bikes for what he has into this one machine..cant wait to do a top end run to see what it has..its sweet nate keep it like that 8)
[/b]
Shawn,
Tell them how fast the bike spins up with the new crank work. It spins up so fast that the tach has to play catch-up. 8)
It really runs like a 4-cylinder now but without sacrificing the low end that twins are known for.
Anonymous 04-11-2005, 07:48 AM sounds good, Is it my turn to ride it yet? :D
If you guys were in the area, I would let you all get a go on it. 8)

cbrjimmy1KRR 04-11-2005, 03:48 PM all i have to say is.........after all this time and money, it BETTER be a bad ass bike.

True. When I first sat on the bike, I could feel it's potential. I had a vision from day 1.
The fact that NYCs1000 is impressed with this bike, makes me really happy. He's the best rider I know other than Stuna.
Where can I get a good price on MR1 or MR9?
By-Tor 04-12-2005, 08:55 AM Go to www.vpracingfuels.com and find the contact us link. Find the northeast rep and call him to get a list of distribors or vendors.
Anonymous 04-12-2005, 09:40 AM What are you going to do about the cooling problem?
Do they make a oversized radiator that will bolt right in?

As a matter of fact, they do and my motor guy has one in stock. $2200 total for both the radiator and the oil cooler.

It's a little too rich for my blood right now. I want to start saving money for trackdays. I should be fine for right now as long as I don't get stuck in traffic. 8)

too rich for your blood? you have gone pretty deep already, you can't stop now for a mere $2200.
CrashTestDummie 04-12-2005, 09:56 AM Seriously.

I hear ya. But between this project and my recent 3 year anniversary, I'm actually broke until sometime next month. I realistically won't see this radiator until the fall sometime or late summer.
That pic that I posted is the actual pic of the radiator that my motor guy has in stock.
Me and NYCs1000 are heading out to Grattan next month on the 21st and 22nd. NYCs1000 is going to bring his cousin's 916. 8)

It's an all european track day that my motor guy is sponsoring. It's only going to be like 50 people there so it's going to be plenty of tracktime on the day. I can't wait.
By-Tor 04-12-2005, 11:51 AM What if I caused my RR to leak oil and draped it in spaghetti..........
Could I come then?

cbrjimmy1KRR 04-12-2005, 01:52 PM so your "motor guy" did all that engine work knowing it'd need a better cooling system and he didn't indlude that in with everything else??
don't sound right to me.
Flightmedic954 04-12-2005, 01:54 PM or even tell you about it
CrashTestDummie 04-12-2005, 01:55 PM Makes me wonder
Double R 04-12-2005, 02:37 PM THAYS A VERY GOOD POINT TURBO!!! I'D WONDER ABOUT HIM.
The bike really doesn't "NEED" it. It's just a piece of mind kind of thing.
Flightmedic954 04-12-2005, 02:40 PM so he just did what was needed...
damn I guess you guys are right about the ducks
For the track, the bike doesn't need the radiator because you are always on the go. He thought I was using the bike on the track only. It was a miscommunication.
For the street though, particularly in traffic, it wouldn't hurt to have the radiator to keep the internals cooler.
Flightmedic954 04-12-2005, 03:21 PM I was J/K, you have enough people f*'in w/ ya about your $-duck
Im just jealous
It's funny. Everytime I go into the garage, I start mumbling to myself: "I love this F-in bike. I've never loved a machine soooo much."
It's weird, because when I bought the Gixxer1K, I admit, I bought it because it was the baddest thing out at the time. But it never made me feel like I do now. I thought it would, but it didn't. It never did.
The duc. Damn, it's indescribable. The sound, the sex appeal, the handling, the status, and now with my work, it has the speed on top of it all. I've never been happier. I now know what this sport is all about. It's about loving what you ride and meeting it's full potential. Not having the latest and greatest all the time.
I now truly understand what you Honda boys have been telling me all along. That's pretty much why I hang out here, even though I may never own a Honda. 8)
CrashTestDummie 04-12-2005, 04:04 PM Turbo, i'm the same way when i ride mine. hopefully after this winter, i'll make some changes to my cbr. As for now, riding season is here and it's time to ride. Just keep your head on straight and your front wheel down. :D

even more B.S. bro.
if the bike had lights and a plate, he should of at the very least mentioned it. maybe it was an innocent oversight.
maybe it was an innocent oversight.
Quite possible. I'm not his only customer and he was extremely busy towards the end of the winter.
cbrjimmy1KRR 04-12-2005, 05:50 PM i'm not trying to talk shit Turbo(for once  )
it'd just bother me if i dropped that kinda coin.....ya know?

I totally understand. But it's not like anything is broken. Its just a minor annoyance.
