: Mrs. Meatstick on her 600rr
meatstick 04-16-2005, 06:18 PM Picked her up today. I think I have created a monster. The wife loves her new bike. I rode it home because she never rode one before. Damn I'm impressed with it. For a 600 it shits and gits. Feels like the 954 ergonomically, just lighter, thinner and less power. The stock pipe sounds a helluva lot better than the one that came with the 954. I think for now until she wants a new exhuast we're going to stick with this one. I'm going to get a fender eliminator for it and throw that mud flap in the trash.
I took her to a church parking lot and got her use to letting out the clutch and rolling a couple of feet and pulling the clutch back in. By the time we got ready to go she was circling around the parking in first gear giving it some gas and leaning right and left. She was scared at first, but I think she is going to pick it up fast. She's crazy.
Here's a couple of pics of her with the new machine.

Butter Bean 04-18-2005, 11:07 AM Congrats..
gntbldr 04-18-2005, 06:06 PM that's cool. kick ass to have your woman ride with you,eh? my woman and I have about 400mi. on the clock so far her on her ninja and me on that kanotuna. killer fun.
How's she liking the ride so far?
meatstick 04-19-2005, 09:38 PM So far, Meaty has taught me to start/stop, shift gears and the basics of riding in a circle. We are taking it slow so that I can build my confidence. After a few more sessions with him, I'll be taking the local motorcycle safety course and can get my license from that program.
I am so excited about my bike and being able to do something that I never thought I could do. We have started buying stuff for my new bike and I'm definitely going to be working on it myself.
Thanks everyone for all of your awesome comments!
Anonymous 04-19-2005, 09:43 PM cool, I was teaching my wife last year until things got cold and now theres other things keeping her from riding.
I think next year I will be riding solo all the time, so my next bike will have a seat cowl and no rear pegs.
Congrats on the bike, that class will be great and it helps on insurance too. I plan on doing one when I get another bike just for the drop in insurance.
Make sure you take some pics of the mods as you do em.
Truck 04-19-2005, 10:03 PM Way to go, just remember take it easy and learn over time; dont get in a hurry. Whatever you do it should be smooth; quick and jerky is bad. Practice panic moves to get used to having to do them cause you will. Remember the most important thing YOU GO WHERE YOU LOOK, IF YOU LOOK AT THE SIDE OF THE ROAD THATS WHERE YOU WILL GO, IF YOU LOOK AT THE BRIDGE GUARDRAIL THATS WHERE YOU WILL GO, IF YOU LOOK THROUGH THE CURVE THAT IS WHERE YOU WILL GO. Smart move going to the cycle school, youll learn a lot. If you can borrow a dirt bike and go play in the dirt. It will teach you a lot and generally hurts a lot less WHEN you fall. I dont say that trying to place a curse on you or anything its just a fact of riding.
Take my advise from before, quit buying those usless upgrades and get a set of leathers, helmet, gloves and boots. Get the good stuff it will save your purdy little arse.
The other reason for not buying all the upgrades just yet is its a proven fact that a very large portion of riders go down early in there riding. If your one of the lucky ones not to then congragulations your one of the select few.
Remember the biggest threat out there is the other motorist and they will kill you. Be on guard at all times watching always; expecially behind you there are so many riders hit from the rear sitting at a red light or even going out the road.
Im not trying to scare you away at all there are just fundamentally things you need to know in order for a day to be a good riding day instead of a really bad one. It will be one of the most funest things you can do.
Its like learning to play a musical instrument, get the basics and the rest will build.
congratz and get your own profile set up and we will talk older into getting his wife on here and ill get mine and well have a few women folk on here.
and welcome
Anywho congratz on the new bike, It can be the best fun you can have.
gntbldr 04-20-2005, 11:31 AM That is just Awesome.
