As some of you might have already realized from the fact that I am posting an announcement, something is going wrong with the site, dreadfully wrong. Well let me allay your fears and inform you that you are right. I now own the site.
A few things will be addressed seriously on this topic and then I return to being a grade a wisenheimer and dealing with spamming dicks and such.
First - This website will NOT host banner or pop up ads so long as I, Jimmy, Gnt, Bytore, or Turbo are alive and kickin. We run the site, and thats it, it will always be a community endeavor. We will not sell out to any corporate sponsors or non-core potential buyers ever, although personally I harbor some doubts as to whether or not anyone else would WANT to own the site except one of the core members, hahaha. That aside, nothing vast is going to change with the site. We will post up a few new sections possibly, and try new things here and there, looking into learning about php nuke which we currently have, but are not utilizing, and seeing what it allows. If anyone has any ideas or suggestions, seriously, pm me or post up. I will be making a topic about changes you would like to see, and in it I will list the changes I think would be beneficial for the site.
Concerning my ownership of the site
I know a goodly number of you are questioning my ability to manage responsibly and without becoming somewhat of a tyrant, as do I. Everything should be questioned, everything should be challenged, if it is not assured, but I believe I am ready. Know that I have the full support of Jimmy Gnt Bytore and Turbo, and that Gnt will remain el presidente and the main site admin. Jimmy Tore and Turbo will remain mods, and I will focus on a litte of everything, but mainly progression of the site, getting t-shirts done, making logical progressive changes, etc etc.
One thing I will handle is conflict resolution. Seeing as I am usually at the center of it, its tricky, but I will do what is best. Yes I will get into fights with people and convey my opinion. I will deal with it myself. I hope you all do the same. That is the main reason I bought the site - this is a place where anyone is free to express themselves openly, be they a baby burning rapist, a huge thief, a conservative christian, or just a regular guy, with one exception, brian. Brian is a grade a douche of the highest order and if he comes back and starts posting again Im going to make sport of him until I die of laughter. Other than that, this is a unique forum and we will build upon that so as to remain as much while we grow, and not become a common run-of-the-mill forum. We look to attract people who are willing to let others actions and thoughts and words be their own, and not attempt to force their will and view on them. Argue, fight, bicker, thats fine, insult, race, challenge, whatever, but to tell someone how they must think and act is the most ignorant profession one can make in my opinion, and the opinions of Jimmy Gnt Bytore and Turbo as well, so if you dont like it, fuck off.
No one will be banned unless the circumstances are so far beyond ridiculous even my previous history with the website pales in comparison, but spammers will be edited, deleted, and jerked around incessantly, this is not a fuckin newspaper classified section, put your ads in the vendor section or die.
My personal policy as the new site owner concerning how I deal with any negative matters, personal and/or concerning the site, is such - if you dislike something I do, say, think - whatever - voice your opinion publicly or go fuck yourself. I WILL NOT EVER DEAL WITH ANY NEGATIVE ISSUE CONCERNING ME OR THE SITE PRIVATELY. Thats it, nothing will be hidden, if you are uncomfortable with this policy you are a pussy and I wont hesitate to point it out. Thats how I function, thats how we roll. We will not censor and edit and moderate like other forums, we seek to build something unique, not govern. Progressing in this fashion means that progress will be more quality than quantity, in terms of forum activity and active member numbers, and it would be unlikely to see us in a years time with thousands upon thousands of active users, but thats not what this little place is about.
That being said Id like to give a big shout out to BIG BROTHER, the man with the plan, the men in blue, the lean mean green machine, the police. HI GUYS!!! They are fairly vigilant in their monitoring of the site, and likely to continue being so due to the activities of certain past members. If you partake in any illegal activities it would be wise to keep them private, and probably be best for the overall development of the site yaknow? We dont know how many or who, if its feds, fbi, or state or locals or whatever, but we know they watch, so just be aware. I am not the sort to pretend that this is a recipe trading forum, we ride, and we ride how we want. Sometimes it is not in accordance with the bullshit thats written on signs and in the texts at the courthouse, and thats that.
That is about it for now, later today I will hopefully get to mapping out changes I think would be helpful to site progression, and for the core members/contributers look to be getting a fun gift from me and possibly some of the council - aka jimmy gnt turbo tore
