Gday all,
Just moved to the Northern Territory where there are no speedlimits and have been testing the bike out a bit over extended distances. I have noticed a problem with the screen. It seems to wobble (dont know if you guys know Rolf Harris, but it wobbles like his wobble board). It disturbs the air around the head and causes my head to wobble up and down about 10cm a number of times each second.

After looking at the screen, it seems that it is not fixed at the bottom, hence it pivots on the screw points. Is this a problem others have had and if so how do i fix it.

Cheers

Welcome to the board. First, is it a stock windscreen? Second, is everything buttoned up or not?

Now, what was your problem?

OH YEAH! Windscreen. Mine used to vibrate a little bit, so I shoved some insulation inbetween the screen and the cluster and that cured it. There's a post somewhere on the board with a couple of pics, maybe a MOD could make themselves USEFUL and paste a link. I can't find it.
:D

i never had much of a problem with my screen wobbling, but the whole upper fairing seemed a bit flimsy and did bounce around alot. i looked into buying a fairing stay ala RC51, but never found one to fit it correctly before she got stolen, so i never fixed that annoyance.

Sorry for the delayed response, the server was down for a bit.

Its a stock screen and on further inspection i noticed that the fairing is also wobbling. Where the fairing meets the headlight there is a little gap. If i grab the top of the fairing and push backwards, the gap between the light and the fairing gets bigger. The fairing seems to flex out at this point.

Will try the squeegee when i get it back on the road tomorrow but i don't think it will be very effective. Just got a flat whilst taking my girls GN250 tyre in for a flat. Ironic isn't it. Its amazing that it takes a bike shop up here two days to fix a flat.

Pip, Darwin's a nice place, just a bit hot and isolated, with few services.
