ive got a new 1000RR and everytime i pull it up for a wheelie it pulls to the right bad. i mean it comes up and then shoots right like changin lanes bad. this is my third bike and ive ridden wheelies for miles at a time so im not a newbie when it comes to one wheel. now ive never mastered leaning and all that stuff to change lanes and turn and stuff....i could just pull it up on a straight stretch and ride until i had to let it down. hell, my friend even got on it and it did the same thing with him. im thinkin the rear wheel is not aligned witht he bike. after the break in period, i adjusted my chain and lined everything up with the hashmarks on the swing arm and it pulled even worse. a friend of mine said he lined up the wheel by having it on a stand and rolling the back wheel til the sprocket teeth ran in the center of the chain. i saw what he was talkin about with the inside of the chain wearing from the teeth if it were off. i checked and did what he said and it is better than it was, but still pulls right. i dont know what to do other than pack my s**t up and make a trip to atlanta computrack and tell them to align it, take their findings to honda and tell them to give me a new swing arm that has properly aligned guidemarks. and im sure they'll jump through hops to accomodate me cause i cant ride a wheelie straight
all i want to do is ride a wheelie and not worry about changin lanes and having to set it down and lookin like i dont know how to ride.
any words to the wise?

I was also thinking that the rear wheel is out of alignment. I would get a tape measure and measure from a common point like the swingarm pivot and measure back to the axle. Do this on both sides. The factory hash marks can be off quite a bit. I would not trust them. I always measure with a tape.

LOL, I had the same problem on my last two bikes, my buddies laughed at me and said I cant wheelie, only thing I can figue it is the tires? Your bike is new huh! took 2000 miles before mine started going straight, it aint the alignment its the tires, btdt, try wheelying and it will pull right, turn around on the same side of the road and it will still pull right, am I correct? Told ya, its the new tires. weee

my 2001 GSXR-1000 did it and my 2002 954 did it, my 2004 GSXR-1000 goes straight. I thought it was the alignment at first, it didnt help at all, so I wheelied to the right for months, then one day it started going straight(around 1500-2000 miles) only thing I can think it was is the tire wearing down, like it had a hi-side on it? I could hand completly of the left side and it would still go right on any road, I ride the same roads today with no problem. weeeeeee

Sorry your having this problem but it is the bike not you.The bike is designed a lot different to keep the front down, there fore making the willie point in a lot higher stance to get a controll balance.I've had them all gsxr r1 929 954 zx10.trust me this is a hard bike to crack.Stay centered on the bike and don't slide back to the rear of the seat, keep pulled up toward the tank. If you have to start going at alittle angle to the left before you start.that will help you.My frinds know me for my willies.,and they thought i was crazy when i told them how hard it was to ride willies on this bike after coming of 954.they say i make it look easy but it's not!!!stand ups are easier. Now all three of my friends are on 1rr and there ready to sell because they keep going to the right,But there getting better.PS i have dyno sheets on all bike's.If anyone cares or interested.ps its not your tire.

i think you are putting more weight on one side more than the other. make sure you're centered up on the bike, you could be steering it to the right and not even mean to. i have recently been able to get mine up close to BP seated and it tracks straight :D

whats your tire pressure? lower it to 25 or so and try it. if you're body position is off, you'll never get over the problem.

I havent had this problem on my 54. I have however started to list and had to sit it down. Never had it to take off at an angle though and ive gone through at least 4 sets of tires this summer.
