Saturday,

It was 75 degrees out. I rode with Beginner to get free instruction from the teachers. My instructor was on an MV F4 750 SPR.

He showed me the lines. I was knee down by the afternoon.

Here's the pic.

Sunday,

It was 60 degrees and raining cats and dogs. I was running the Michelin Pilot Powers which were awesome in the dry but sucked in the wet. I could not get on the gas at all in any turns.

You won't believe this but the first intermediate session on Sunday, I had the whole track to myself because everyone was scared to ride in the wet. hahahahah a biatches!!!

I rode every single session on sunday Beginner, Intermediate, and I rode with the advanced guys who were running rain tires. The guy that delivers my bike whenever I get work done crashed right in front of me in turn 10 at about 80mph. His bike was friggin facing me while I was moving. It was crazy.

Here's Sundays Pic, same turn.

http://www.imagestation.com/picture/sraid169/pc44ec3755f9e43dc53688dd88e9fb9d5/f400fb90.jpg

I saved 3 highsides. The first save was coming on the front straight. The second save was in turn 1 braking from 160mph. The 3rd save happened directely after the 2nd save because I got right back on the gas, the bike spun out again and threw me into the gravel. I tipped over in the gravel. Minor scratches on the fairing that I've since buffed out.

It was an awesome time. There was like 7 or 8 people out on the track all day Sunday.

Yup. I'm not exaggerating. I had the WHOLE track to myself on the first intermediate session on Sunday. Everyone must have been scared of dropping their $20-$30,000 bikes in the rain. lol

Not me. I had a little mishap but nothing major. It was great. I learned a lot. I'm glad I rode in beginner on Sat. That instruction would have costed thousands of dollars. I'm comfortable on both sides of the bike now.

Nice pics Turbo. No pics of Shawn out on the track?

So do you like the Powers better than the Pirelli's?

Too bad it rained, but al least it gives you some good wet road experience in a controlled environment.

Shawn couldn't make it. I made this Trek all by myself. Dude, highsides are fuggin scary.

In my opinion, the Pirellis give more feedback. I don't think I would have highsided in the rain on the Pirellis. Because the tires would have talked a little more.

The michelins are very stable under braking. I think the Diablo Corsas are more stable mid corner. The Pilot Powers have a tendency to squirm a bit. This was a front end track so they advised 34psi in the front and 33psi in the rear. That worked GREAT!

The Michelins are easier to turn the bike over on the brakes than the Pirellis.

So to summarize: The Pirellis are good for Powering out of turns. The Michelins are good for Diving into turns. But they both offer similar levels of grip and consistency. I rate them a tie. They each have their strong points.

I'm headed to Auto Zone in a few min to get some scratch fix and wax. I buffed the hell out of bike yesterday with Honda Spray.

It was a real bitch pulling gravel out of my vented clutch.

My motor guy posted this morning. He's going to have both Neil Hodgson and Eric Bostrom at the next event at Gingerman raceway.

Here's the layout for the next event.

I don't think I'll be able to go unless my wife comes with me.

How did you get the bike to and from the track? Did you rent a van?

I rented a van from enterprise from Fri to Tues for $500 total with unlimited mileage.

Everything worked out great.

I'm getting ready to watch my man Eric Bostrom lay the smackdown on them Suzukis at Pikes Peak in 30 min. :D

Yeah Rome, I was originally going to do the FUSA day but I'm a little short on cash. I spent a little more on Gas than I expected and I returned the van this morning.

Let's do a day together next month. I'll be checking Dennis' website for your photos on Saturday.

My next trackday will be at either FUSA or Summit Point Main Course.

Yeah, it was a blast. I'm spoiled from all the track time I got.

I'm sure you'll enjoy yours just the same. I learned so much from mine. The instruction was great.

I hear you on that one Shawn. Let that shit heal up the right way. Almost a year since my shoulder was fixed and it's only about 80%.

We all have to get together for a relaxed ride like last fall.

I'll have to find someone to host it for me. I'm sure that wont be a problem though. I suck at computers so I might have to ask for help in loading the file and some shit. I know resuscit8u does it all the time, so I'll hit him up for the info.

But yeah, I'll post it as soon as I get it all sorted out 8)
