high im new here,i have an 02 954 rr with pc3 and full micron system,up to 5000 rpm it sounds a bit rough i heard this could be due to a flap in the airbox,i had a look and in the airbox theres an approximately 150mm x 50mm flap that works electronicly and has a spring on,i removes spring and taped down flap, engine still sounds grumbly if you say sit at 2-3000 rpm pin open throttle.....had it on dyno was 145bhp at wheel fueling was perfect, tops out at 179mph..have i done right thing with airbox?

You probably hear the exhaust note changing just as the HTEV (that valve in the exhaust pipe) opens.

i just posted this in another forum. even my stock 1000 sounds shitty if you slow below 3000rpm and grab some throttle. if you just crack the throttle it'll slowly come out sounding smooth, but put it under load and it gets pissed off.

The K5 is for if you need a bike to make up for your lack of ability, there is no excuse to get the R1.
