Let me know if you're interested. I'm thinking about renting Grattan next year.

It's like $2000 for the track for the day. It will most likely be on a Monday so you guys can drive down over the weekend.

Keep in mind that the $2000 does not include the corner workers but it does include 1 ambulance. I'll work on food arrangements.

Whoever wants to get in, just let me know. I'm going to call the owner probably in the fall sometime. I spoke to him at length in May.

I'll put up the $2,000 and whoever want's to come, just contribute $100 or something.

Grattan is a great track!!! Non stop tracktime from 9am to 5pm.

170mph straight if you're brave. This is such a fun track!!! More elevation changes than VIR.

Maybe we can make this the 1000RR.com track event.

I bet we'll all be tired by noon. lol

I'm dead serious about this, so let me know if you guys are interested. I'm willing to put most of the money up front.

I'll even arrange to have a photographer/videographer there.

There's also camping at the track if you get there the night before. I'm going to try and get a Monday.

Yes.... You will!!! You better!

Other options are Mid Ohio, VIR, and Summit Point Main. But I don't have any details about them regarding pricing, corner workers, etc.

sounds like a great plan turbo(shit did i just say that to turbo???) I'm in, but agree with the distance thing. Anything I can do to help just let me know.

Believe me, Grattan really is worth the distance. It would be well worth the trip.

But if it's too far for everybody, then we'll go somewhere else.

For me MI is almost as far as the east coast, I will be in Chi town next summer for a car show event.... I plan on iron butting it up there, but I I may have neough left in me for a track day if its around the same time :-).

I'm hoping to get around 20-30 people. If 30 people contribute $100, that would offset the cost of the event.

Come do the Bear Mtn run with me Turbo, and this time I do the run it'll be a balls to the wall run. You really should see what that looks like Luvfender. You saw when I passed Dave on the outside with my knee down in that sweeper? That was half pace!

You'll both be buying me tires before you know it

Shit, I'm ready. You'll just have to wait for me at the intersections

Thanks for the Suspension settings, I think you were spot on with 11 turns out from soft, I setup the rear today and read enough articles on tire pressure and suspension settings to make me go blind.

It feels like the front end is feeding back every freakin bump in the road, I've only had a few rips, I'll know more by Sunday afternoon. If you did put the wife in the chipper you could ride sunday :D J/K of course

Listen Grattan is over 12 hours away. To far. Louden, Pocono, Beaver Run, and VIR and I am in. I will even help and put money up.

I think at any of the tracks I mentioned we would have 6 people without even posting it up and willing to put up $150. With that we only need 14 more people to cover the expenses including food and refreshments. If more sign up even better, the price will go down.

Cool Fender, I'm glad the settings worked out for you. I'll check my compression and rebound for you too. Give me a couple days and I'll have them for ya.

a friend of mine looked into this with me as a partner.

we looked at Loudon/NHIS.

If you havent contected whomever it is going to be, you might want the details.

This is what we found out:

1. being a newcomer to this, the previous track renters all get first picks. once they are all done, then you can pick from whatever is left over.

2. you;d have to prove to the track management that you have experience running a school or working long term for a trackday organization, preferably as an instructor or similar.

3. rental was about 6 grand on the day including 2 ambulances.
(if you have 1 and someones hurt the day stops till the ambulance returns...major piss off for people that pay)

potentially you can make good money doing this stuff, but you need alot of help from friends. cornerworking is voluntary usually, but you can compensate. you;d also need at least 2 professional cornerworkers (at least at loudon)

it seemed like a shitload of work after about the 5th time i talked to the management in charge there. I just hope you;ve looked way further into this than just saying you are gonna is all. good luck if you decide to do it and can go through with it :)

Thanks General.

I spoke with the actual track owner when I was at Grattan. He was the one that gave me the details.

For now I went 2 turns out from full stiff and I think I'm going to back off on the rebound, its a little stiff...

I did read some articles where the Diablo's need to be at 34/35 psi, I had mine at 30/32, So I jacked those up last night and went for a ride, still feels stiff in the front. It was SQUID night though, shorts, t-shirts and wheelies everywhere!!! I forgot what it is like to ride around town working on that flat spot in the center of the tire...

I won't be able to make either of the FUSA days in Sept. I'll be doing East Course with nysbc on Sept. 30th though. That's almost definite.
