Not saying anyone did anything but out of the bikes stolen I wonder how many seasons were ended early and how many poor saps didn't have theft insurance. :(

point taken
sometimes you forget what a person does when you've had a friendship with them, and a little slap across the head brings clarification.
By-Tor 07-25-2005, 11:23 AM Agreed.
But even Charles Manson gets visitors.
Not condoning his actions in any way. Just saying hello to the person we knew him as in the forum.

I agree
This site went through a lot of hell because of one bad apple too. It took a lot of grown men to stand up and say hello to their friend in the face of all that took place.
I never became close with Stunna, he wasn't one of the few I have had the pelasure of gettin to know, but I have had my bike stolen, and I have a hard time separating the two because of my lack of friendship. Still, anyone that can, is a big man to stand by a friend after all that has happened.
i don't have to agree with or like what he did, but as a memeber of this community, and as an outsider who has been welcomed in, I find myself willing to move on within the confines of this board. I will not however, tell him where i live :-). ( I better keep nice with Pip or he will though)
Stuna is paying his debt to society. And when he gets out, he will owe society nothing. All this based on laws that we the people have drafted.
I'm willing to give the man a chance. He is a human being afterall. With a wife and daughter.
Although I will never support the act of stealing, I will support his efforts to leave that life behind him.
Da1000RRStuna 07-25-2005, 09:16 PM I have known Chris for a while, He is one of the most stand-up guys I know. I spent lots of weekends at the races and traveling, those are some of the best times I have had. He was the friend that you didn't need to worry about when you needed someone to back you up. He almost beat up the townies at a restaurant during the FUSA weekend at Pocono....That sheet was so funny...LOL
The point of the story is he has accepted the situation and I know that when he gets out he will be changed for the better....but still have that good old wise-a$$ attitude.
:P
I consider him a good friend and he is welcome at my house anytime!!!!

Well said Turbo 8)
GeNeRaL 07-25-2005, 10:38 PM Im not really sure what to say. He always gave me the impression he thought himself that much better than the next guy, which is fine. Then the truth comes out and he's a bike thief, my worst enemy in essence.
I can't say he's ever been my friend or what not cause i never really talked to him or whatever, even though i've been on this site since the 954rr.com days. we just never got to BS'ing i suppose.
Either way i guess what im trying to say is to me its just some guy that stole bikes and now hes paying the price, for however long that is. I just hope its a wakeup call and he gets his life in order from it, rather than to come out and return to the piece of shit thief he was.
gntbldr 07-25-2005, 11:37 PM how bad would it be if when critty got out I asked him for some fairings or something? :P I don't even have a sportbike and that would be part of the joke that I could laugh at. I know I personally have done some way stupid shit in my time and have lived through the what goes around comes around law but I also know that I break many laws every single day I breathe.
just not stealing bikes and all or whatever. mostly just traffic violations along with sweet corn from farm fields at times and maybe tresspassing to go skiny dipping with me old lady at somebody's pool late at night.

Sure, I've driven drunk, street raced, ran to evade arrest, and many other things. But I never stole a shitload of bikes and then went on a bike board and said whats up from prison and got welcomed back. I wouldn't piss in a thiefs mouth if his teeth were on fire, I work to hard for my shit for some prick smelling of prison sex to just take it from me.

he will owe society nothing??? like somebody put in another post, what about the poor sap who didn't have insurance? is stuna paying him from his 3 cents per license plate? yeah he is doing his time, but somebody was and still might be hurt from it, and they don't necessarily feel re-payed by his jail time. I personally see it as a betrayal to the whole community. come online and hang with the homies and bullshit and belittle people, then get a phone call that the van is here with poor sap #87's brand new bike he has been working overtime for. I hope nobody leaves when he returns, because despite what i feel he is as welcome here as anybody is.
I'll even "shoot him"(get it, shoot him :D) a welcome back even though i don't know him.

I'm sorry but I can't feel remorse for someone who shells out 11G's for a motorcycle and doesn't put theft on it. That's just pure stupidity. If you can't afford insurance, then you can't afford the bike. It's just that simple.

I agree with that, but just because I have insurance doesnt mean its ok if my bike is stolen. Or doesnt mean the 500 or 1000 deductible that comes out of my pocket doesnt cause additional heartache. The issue isnt someones stupidity for not insuring their bike, the issue is the theft.
And uh, for the record, you still pay higher premiums if you make a claim FOR 5 YEARS!!!! Even if the accident is not your fault at all. They can't charge you a penalty, but as I recently found out, most insurance cos offer a discount for no claims (which means with one you pay more) and some wont insure bikes with even one claim. So even with Theft, that poor schlub has to pay out the nose for 5 more years

Kat,
My Gixxer1K was stolen and my Ducati insurance is almost cheaper than the Gixxer was.
DoubleR,
You're right, the issue was the theft. But it's kind of silly to be like: "Off with his head!!!" Know what I mean?

when he gets out i will voice my opinion THE SAME WAY I ALREADY DID. and anyone who stands up for what he did saying its "the buyers that create the market" is just ignorant. yeah stand up for your friend, but dont try and say what he did was ok, BECAUSE IT IS NOT OK IN ANY WAY SHAPE OR FORM!!! if he stole them himself or had people do it for him or just paid them it doesnt matter. if what he did was ok he wouldnt be where he is right now, WOULD HE??? Your funny  .
As a bike theft victim, I really hate was he did. But I won't hold it against him forever. If he comes out and changes his ways, then he deserves to be treated like a human being.
The debate topic here is that if a man is convicted of a crime, serves his sentence and is released, is he still a criminal? Even if he cleans up his act???
Some of you blood hungry guys that have never made any mistakes in life say yes, he still is a criminal. But truthfully, you are only a criminal if you are engaging in the act of commiting a crime.
Double R 07-27-2005, 05:30 PM Its not about being blood hungry, its about people defending what he did. did you read what this friend said? saying he didn't steal them himself, COME ON!!! yes he did the crime, yes he is convicted, yes he is doing his time, and hopefully he will do the right thing when he comes out. would you send your child to a day care if there was a convicted child molester who served his time working there?(NOBODY WOULD SAY YES) SO THE ONLY A CRIMINAL IF YOU ARE COMMITTING A CRIME LINE DOESN'T WORK DOES IT????? the "blood hungry" attitude you see is about defending an OBVIOUSLY guilty person. be cool with him but don't defend what he did.
Its not about being blood hungry, its about people defending what he did. did you read what this friend said? saying he didn't steal them himself, COME ON!!!

Knucle01 07-27-2005, 07:05 PM well said wheelie...well said. do the crime, now do the time. also, i admire the spirits of his friends, defending him. why do they defend him....cause they are friends, i have no problem w/ this. fact of the matter is when you steal something, no matter how small or invaluable it is....you are taking from someone else to benefit your own personal needs. therefore, i have no sympathy for that reason, we all busted our asses to buy our bikes (or any personal property for that matter), so realize while defending your friend, also take into consideration if it happened to you.....you would NOT be happy, and you sure as hell wouldnt be defending the criminal.
Da1000RRStuna 07-27-2005, 09:58 PM I know what happened was WRONG. I am not defending what he did and never said it was OK to steal peoples stuff to get ahead in life. He was just ONE person involved in the big picture. I guess what I was trying to say didn't come out right.....What I am saying is if you crashed most people would rather buy mint condition plastics and parts off the internet no questions asked than spend triple that at the local Honda shop.
I would shoot someone trying to take my bikes too.
BOY did I gas you guys up!!!
ok I can live with that,
any news on when he will get out?
Hows his woman and child doing?
How do you get in contact with him, thru mail or have been to see him?
Tank69 08-04-2005, 12:56 AM If you have an address where I could write him, could you post it or PM me.
Thanks,
Tank
I need to interject something that will most likely fuel some fires and ignite some more.
Everyone says "but he has a wife and daughter". It seems that everyone else is more concerned about the welfare of Stunna's family than he was. We all have fallen prey to temptation at some point in our lives, and free and easy money is a big one that many struggle with everyday, but to have a family and put yourself in a position that may compromise their well being...
For one moment think back to all your posts about shooting the guy trying to run you off the road. Now imagine a guy who finds out that Stunna stole his bike, enraged, crazy in the head like many of us are, fearless like some others, and pissed as hell NYC style. Ok, now that guy goes to his house and does something drastic, I won't even speculate as to all the possibilities. Its one thing to steal on your own time, but to risk your families lives and well being. And what now, firefighters make good money, he was most likely the major bread winner, possibly the only one, and now what, they are left struggling while he pays his debt to society.
More than just the people whose bikes got stolen were hurt, his wife and child are scarred for life, his family left to help out and offer emotional support to his wife and child are now burdened, and why, all because the good money a firefighter makes was not enough to resist the temptation of easy money.
I've been rich, filthy, disgustingly, amazingly rich and you know what, more money begets more problems. More legal problems, more money problems, more social problems. I am happy now with my meager middle class life, my kids in public school that I pay an arm and a leg in taxes to support and my dealer demo suburban instead of an H2, but I am lucky, I know that money doesn't bring happiness, only trouble, I only wish the same revelation for all those I love so that they don't spend their lives falling prey to the temptations of the root of all evil.
Rambling done
Knucle01 08-04-2005, 07:23 AM well said kat. i've never met stuna....and belive me, depending on where he worked, we've probably bumped into each other. he knew the risks of doing what he did, knowing his family would be put in jepordy...but he chose to forego the risks. now hes collared and he has to sit there. job....gone, pension......gone.....family name...ruined. in my book, family comes 1st and foremost. i dont hold it against stuna....but it should never have happened either.....after all were ALL in the motorcycle community.
Double R 08-04-2005, 07:44 AM well put kat. and your point about "what about his wife and kid" is right on the money. As far as fueling fires, the reality is NOBODY , friend or not can properly defend his position. So there is no fire to fuel just the facts.
