CBR1000RR DAYTONA TEST!
The Honda CBR1000RR scored the 2 fastest times in the Daytona test last Tuesday afternoon in practice! Bostrom came in first followed by DuHamel to beat out the Yamaha R1, the Suzuki GSX-R1000 and the Kawasaki ZX-10! AMASuperbike.com said "Speed gun readings show that the new Honda CBR1000RR might be the fastest Superbike ever" and "The Honda riders all topped 190 mph, with Jake Zemke and Miguel DuHamel hitting 192 mph several times!"

Honda Testing At California Speedway

Copyright 2004, Roadracing World Publishing, Inc.

American Honda and Erion Honda are testing today, the second day of a two-day test, at California Speedway in Fontana, California.

Ben Bostrom, Miguel Duhamel, Jake Zemke and Alex Gobert are all present and riding, and weather conditions are very good with little wind and ambient temperatures near 75 degrees Fahrenheit.

Bostrom and Duhamel are sharing a CBR1000RR Superbike, and Duhamel is also riding his CBR600RR Formula Xtreme racebike.

Zemke is splitting time between his CBR1000RR Superbike and CBR600RR Formula Xtreme racer.

Gobert is continuing to dial in his CBR600RR FX machine and is also riding a nearly stock CBR1000RR that is to become his Superstock racer.

Currently, Gobertís CBR1000RR has stock suspension and bodywork with the lights taped over, a slip-on exhaust canister, rearsets from a CBR600RR and 17-inch Dunlop slicks.

Ben Bostrom press release

Ben Bostrom completed a preseason test at Laguna Seca today, cutting laps on his new Honda Superbike.

ďWe fought some serious rain for the first couple of days, but finally got some dry time. The bike was fantastic. Once again, I am just in awe of this machine, itís unreal. We did 26 flats and I know there is another half a second there. The bike is that good."

The new Honda Superbike has Ben rejuvenated and poised to make waves in 2004.

"Iím more enthused now than Iíve ever been. Every time I get on the bike, it makes me feel like a kid again. It makes me feel like I never road raced before and puts a smile back on my face.Ē

Visit www.BenBostrom.com for a few images from the test.

where'd you get the cowl?

hayabusahunter
05-02-2005, 03:30 AM
The seat Cowl is the Targa seat cowl from:
Australian Motorcycle Components Pty Ltd
P.O. Box 7142
Baulkham Hills
New South Wales
2153
Australia
Phone: +61 2 9634 9333
Fax: +61 2 9634 7933
see http://www.amcmotorcycles.com.au/ and select "seat Cowls" in the left window and then select the CBR100RR next to the Honda Cowls.
Another thing worth mentioning is that unlike the Honda cowls, these ones fit over your seat, rather then removing the seat. They look trick!!

Dude, that's an awesome post. NOW... After watching the animated graphic showing the unit pro-link in action - what is sprung and what is unsprung weight in this design?

Please explain to my warped brain!

Cheers!

gntbldr
12-03-2005, 08:43 AM
cool, glad you liked it
sprung weight is everything connected to the frame minus the swingarm and what's attached to it, and also the front wheel.

many have found that reducing the unsprung weight results in a sharper handling bike as one of it's benefits.
