rocked a late 90's ZX-6R tonight in a roll-on on my '83 V65 Magna. after i left him, i decided to see how fast she'd go. with no fairings on her and a big backpack, i hit a calculated 144mph...about 160 indicated. that's about all she had....she's geared too tall. that's redline in 5th. she didn't have enough oomph for 6th. gotta re-gear her---shafties are a bitch. she was steady as a fucking rock. took her through a nice triple digit curve too with that '6R. not bad for a 23 year old cruiser though, eh?

not too bad at all.

now that's a little bit of words of motivation to me and my side project. :D

so... you still have most of your pegs left on that thing?

haha, the feelers are a little ground down. i've got avon azaro radials on her, progressive front springs and progressive 418 rear shocks. she handles well for an old bike. i can scrape those pegs all day. the smaller magnas (your 700) handle even better than the V65. lots of fun.

:D :D :D Shweet! then when I get her going next year I'll have to see how bad I can make the pegs before my boots wear out, eh?. HAHAH

gnt-

figured you'd like seeing this. friend is building up his bottom end with carillo rods and forged pistons to take the beating. he's also built a custom FI system for it. unbelievable power, sexy looks, and a sick whine that gives me a hard-on.

yes, that's a supercharger :D

a fuckin supercharger. 8) cool. is that reverse shifting on that?

sorta. he flipped the shifter back behind the main peg just so he could test ride the bike. otherwise it'd hit the lower drive pulley. he's since mounted pegs further aft and installed a normal shifter. he's in the process of building up the engine to take serious boost, but he did run the blower on a stock engine up to 9psi i think. he said that 1st gear was worthless. wouldn't even wheelie unless you lightly twisted the throttle. otherwise, a good twist of the wrist would just roast the rear from a roll. i can't wait until he builds the motor, tunes it, and gets it on the dyno.

:D :!:

reading words like that has me feeling like I do when my buddy talks about his turbo systems he builds. All smirk like. :D

you ever get to ride it?

nope, i haven't. but if i can find a real good deal on carillo rods i'll build a blown motor for my '65. at $1275 for a set of four rods, it just ain't cost effective. one day, maybe.
